I don't see the point in buying an iPhone, in the colour you like, then you cover up the phone with a case.

That's why I always buy Apple's clear case.

On the hunt for a leather case which also covers the plateau (not a fan of the Decoded colours) - sticking with a Spigen hybrid for now, which does the job.

After seeing the supposed fragility of the aluminium, I'm not sure an open camera space is right for my deep blue PM this year! Wondering if this will spur more manufacturers into making full-cover versions of their models.

Alternatively, have considered some form of PPF/skin to cover the plateau and then going for something with an open back. Really like to look of the Nomad or Aspen..

The Dbrand Ghost really looks fantastic on the Silver, top stuff!

Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the full cover over the camera plateau as I think that hampers heat dissipation too much. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but prefer that case that just have a rim around the plateau for a more basic protection?
Initially didnt like the full coverage of the plateau but now wondering about the finish there too.

Exactly! Why I ordered the Caudabe Paragon with the precise cutouts. I want the whole phone protected. May also check out the Dbrand Ghost.
Kinda weird this year. I always used a case on my device. Normally, I have few brands or types that like and not worried about the protection. Now, all favorites might not be best and the protection is almost the most important. Can’t enjoy new device if feel like would need defender case just to protect.

Tineeowl is the closest to the Sheath. However, it’s not available yet, but soon, according to their instagram account and in my opinion it looks very good! I have it for my 16 pro max and although not as good as the sheath in terms of quality, the much cheaper price completely makes up for it.
Ohhh I am going to investigate this! It actually looks good! Thanks for the suggestion!

The dbrand ghost 2.0 is a great case and very well engineered! I rock it as a secondary case for my silver 17 pro when the need arises for something rugged. My primary is Arc Pulse.

I am not a fan of the full cover over the camera plateau (and closed bottom) for a different reason. I prefer the minimalist open bottom and plateau.
Is the ghost case a fingerprint magnet? I saw best buy now sells brand in store and I am curious as I have been wanting to try the ghost case but I am not entirely sold on it.

I've tried all the Apple cases on my silver Pro Max and the one I'm keeping surprised me. I'm quite fussy and considered many factors so if you're having trouble choosing, here is how I ended up where I did.

Clear
This is the one I gravitated toward when looking at the images online. I quite like how it looks with the silver, even the white square (I don't think it looks good with the other colors). Ever since MagSafe, I've not gone clear because I don't like the big white circle, but I thought this would be the year. It looks really nice in person too, kinda techie in appearance because that's 17 Pro Max vibe. The buttons feel good, not mushy. It's the most slippery of the three, which is to be expected, but it also feels bulky. I'm not sure what the dimensions are versus the other cases, but this is how it felt. It might be partly due to the lip being taller than the others. Between the slipperiness and bulk, it just isn't working for me. This is a little disappointing, probably because I had my mind set on it. I think after using it for a few hours I also lost faith in the aesthetics. All told, it's is a no for me.

Techwoven
This looks and feels like the most premium. It's rugged but refined. The rugged appearance isn't exactly for me, but it looks much nicer than what I normally think of as "rugged," like the thick Otterbox cases. I could get used to it. The buttons on all the cases feel good, but the TechWoven is my favorite. Given that the case is a little rough and the buttons are smooth, my fingers easily find them. The action button is a little recessed, however, so a bit more difficult to use. The grippiness is inbetween the clear and silicone. My personal issue is that the sensation of touching the back and sides are a turn off, to the point that I didn't want to hold it or move my fingers across it. It almost made me shiver. I might be more sensitive than most, but I just don't like how the texture feels and was not sure I'd adjust. It's a no for me.

Silicone
Before trying all three, my assumption was I'd like this the least. In general, I am not a fan of the silver camera area juxtaposed against a different color case. Obviously the TechWoven also has this appearance. I have both in black and would prefer if everything were black. It's the most grippy. The buttons are more tactile than the clear but not as premium as the Techwoven. The action button, however, is not recessed and is probably the most accessible. As with previous generations, it feels silky smooth which I like a lot, especially after swapping out from the TechWoven. Again, I don't know the dimensions, but it feels the least bulky. It also looks a lot more simple than the TechWoven because it obviously has no texture. For this reason, when juxtaposed against the big silver camera area, the aesthetics are more appealing to me... simpler, less featured, more minimalist.

So yes, I'm keeping the silicone. I know folks have issues with durability, but I've used Apple silicone cases for 1-2 years before feeling like I need to replace them. I was also a fan of the FineWoven and used one for two years. Despite minor scuffs and discoloration, it looked okay to me, but maybe I was used to it and it looked shabby to others. I think coming from the FineWoven and going to the silicone, there are a lot of tactile similarities. Both have that silky feeling. Maybe I'm used to that and the TechWoven was too much of a departure. Regardless, I'm quite happy with it. It took a lot of switching between the three to finally reach this conclusion, but the silicone is the right choice for me.

Yes like every other clear case. Only remedy is if you have a lighter color phone which hides the fingerprints better but still a fingerprint magnet nonetheless.
