I got to know yesterday that there's a new spigen protector with better fitment and install method. It apparently has "Pro HD" in the name and is only available in certain markets. Here are two links

apparently it has no rainbow effect on the side when seeing from the side, no black borders and comes with an install method with an extra step that removes dust like many other protectors do.

Does it have AR qualities?

Well it finally happened. Add me to the list of “how TF did that happen” that got some micro-scratches, as well as a fingernail scratch on my OrigArmor. The screen was lightly used. It’s going back to Amazon and I’ll be using my Shellrus in the mean time, maybe forever, as I hate seeing scratches on my screen.

I did. The 3D version had a perfect fit. The non 3D edge versions on the other hand did block pixels
Very interesting. This guy seems to have issues with pixels being blocked on the 3D version. I wonder if it’s a bad batch or it wasn’t aligned perfectly during install.

Tried the new 3D Flolab and it cuts into the screen. Switched to the AR one from Caudabe I bought weeks ago… even worse. Went back to my Torras which has a perfect fit and mine had no scratches and I had it on since the launch of the phone.

I’m telling you guys 😂… I’ll take the OrigArmor all day everyday with it’s easy install and perfect fit even with some microscratches over the Flolab or the Caudabe that eat into the screen or end up crooked even with the most careful installation.

This 💯 Torras OrigArmor rules. I love the AR and 3D curve edges.

A protector doing it job at protecting the phone screen from scratches by getting scratched itself and people are returning 😄😄.

You’ll have your cases in a case soon
Nah man, the amount of scratches the origarmor picks up ain’t normal. I’ll put a pic of mine tomorrow. It still beats getting the display cut into but man this thing scratches just by looking at it. Still love it tho

I got an unbreakcable screen protector for my 17 pro max, it's got smooth edges but I think because of those smooth edges, it has a very pronounced rainbow effect. I also think it might be reducing the contrast, because I think the dark colors look less.. dark?

You can see from the last picture that the rainbow goes all the way around, so it's not that I misaligned it. To their credit, unbreakcable includes a plastic frame that makes it really easy to align and install the screen protector. I was actually surprised how easily this installed, there were only a couple of bubbles I had to squeeze out with the included plastic card.

But also... it makes a heavy phone just a tiny bit heavier! Ergh! LIKE It weighs 16 grams! With the case and screen protector, my phone weighs 292g... that's... heavier than my fold 4 lol.

I'm not sure if it's the angles of the pictures that's playing tricks on my eyes or not, but in all 3 of your pictures, your screen is hanging outside of the screen protector.

I tried the Hoda Sapphire this year as I was always very disappointed with Shellrus in the last 2 years. It does not block pixels but I has not happy with the reflection of the sapphire protector. Once you go with one with the AR Coating, you don`t want to go back.
I may ship my Shellrus back. I haven’t installed it yet but the blocking pixels and light bleed from a YouTube video showcasing it on the iPhone 16 Pro Max has me fairly disappointed.

Couple questions for you as I may order the Hoda:

  1. Did you test it using a screenshot of the L-corners of the camera app from iOS 18?
  2. Can you confirm when it was still installed, was there any light bleed?
  3. How would you compare the edge to edge protection from the Hoda vs OrigArmor?
Appreciated!

The protector seems to be generally undersized.

I think I will be buying the Flolab 3D. OrigArmour being softer means it's less likely to crack which is bad and their mechanism is not an advantage for people who bought the base model like me.

I ran a test by sending 2 emails under 2 different addresses to Flolab, Torras and Nillkin. From one account flolab replied first, from the other Torras did. however there were only few hours of difference until the other followed up (if we think in Chinese time, otherwise a day).

Torras indeed seems like they have the better CS but at the end of the day (after you start using the product) they do the same thing at the same speed. Torras is a 3 while Flolab is 2 in the grand scheme I would say. Nillkin didn't respond to anything at all and their phone number doesn't work. They might boast better AR then Torras for half the price but this kind of negligence from a such a long standing company makes me cautious.

I have the new 3D edge flolab own its way. I've installed the Torrras twice. Both had some scratches. The fit is as perfect as I've ever seen, the oleophobic coating is very good, the AR is just OK and the rainbow with polarized lenses is bad.

I do worry if even the new flolab will not fit as well and if it does not, I'll probably buy another torras.
Has it arrived yet? HTC did a review of the 3D version but it seems like it was a fitment issue. I checked his other reviews for OrigArmor and last years 16 Pro 3D and they all had that corner thingy in the camera app a hairline thinner at some corner. Bottom left on the origarmor video and bottom right for the 16 pro flolab. I do feel like flolab should fit just like OrigArmor if it's perfectly aligned but we still yet to see.

It wasn't enough we had to play LG/Samsung panel lottery, now we have this. I wish they just made one good product and made it 50 euro, better than all the headache changing until getting a good one. I just wanna buy a good one and be done with it :(

Whenever I get a new phone, I get the screensaver installed at the Apple Store. I go for the Belkin option they have in-store. the one that they use their install tool for. I don't even remove the factory installed "screen peel", before installation, to avoid dust / dirt on the screen.

In my experience, Apple is very good with their policy for screen saver installation. They get it right or they will make it right. I have not had any problems with the Belkin screen protector. YMMV :)
I never paid much attention when I was in the apple store, but do they wipe the phone down before applying the screen protector?

I have Flolab’s 3D privacy for my 17 Pro. The fit and 3D edge is great, and it doesn’t cut into any pixels on the screen. I was worried originally since it does have a black border. But no issues.

Main issue i have is a persistent bubble on the top right edge of the screen, and the poor oleophobic coating. Coating is definitely better on competitor brands. Already requested a replacement on Amazon.

Otherwise, it’s great. The AR properties are fantastic (my first time experiencing it).

IIRC, with my 8 Pro and 11 Pro, I used the phones before I decided to have a screen protector installed. They did wipe the screen. A wipe was included in the screen protector packaging. The OEM Belkiin in-store installation glass comes in a sealed envelope including the wipe.

My phones after that were fresh out of the box, and had the factory dust sicker still on, so they didn’t need to be wiped down. I’m guessing they would have wiped it if necessary.

Are you concerned that wiping the phone’s screen may damage the coating?

You can get the Hoda 3D edge screen protector. I have the sapphire screen protector on my 17 Pro, and my wife has the 3D edge matte version on her 17.

Both screen protectors have a perfect fit, and no pixel is blocked by the screen protector.

Just wanted to ask if you still have the HODA Sapphire installed on your 17 Pro, and if so, could you address my concerns from my previous post?

Also, do you think it’s case-friendly? I saw a video of an install on the latest iPhone 17 Pro Max, and HODA has the protruding notch by the speaker, so I wonder if it’s gonna lift with a case like the Caudabe Sheath that I currently have.

Nah not at all. I wipe my phone down with isopropyl alcohol pretty often to keep it clean. XD

I was just curious if they'd give me a screen protector and not care if there was dust under it or whatever. Thanks for the info!

I like the idea that they install it perfectly and replace it if there's any issues.

Ah okay. From what I have seen, they will clean it before installation.

Please double check with your local store to verify that cleaning the screen, and installing properly, is still their policy. I wouldn't want to steer you in the wrong direction :)

tried the wsken 4 way privacy:
i messed up the installation and had to manual install. it cuts off the left and right edges. theres black outline around the dynamic island area for some reason which I dont like . better than zagg but ill try flolab next.

BELKIN Ultra Glass 2. Which is applied in the Apple Store is a great Screen protector. Comes with a replacement Warranty
It may be abit more expensive but it’s worth it

Keep in mind an Apple employee puts it on with a special machine which aligns it perfectly.

I got rid of the screen protector. Got tired of the increased reflections you get with sapphire screen protectors. I'm using the torras origarmor at the moment.

Not sure how case friendly the product is, as I only used it with the apple techwoven case.

1) Tested it with the camera screenshot and with an image and everything looked good.
2) No light bleed for me
3) Won't be as good as the OrigArmor since that is a 3D screen protector. So that goes closer to the edge of the phone than non-3D screen protectors. As of October 2025 there are no 3D sapphire screen protectors. And with how delicate sapphire is, I doubt a company will ever make one.
