Is there a protector like that? I’d like to know too, but I don’t think there is one — at least I haven’t seen any yet. I’ve only seen some phone cases that come with camera protection, but I can’t remember which brand it was. I’ll share it with you next time I come across it.
I bought a skin to cover it. I don't like cases with built-in covers, looks too bulky.

I ordered from https://www.xtremeskins.co.uk/. Hasn’t arrived yet so not sure how good they are or aren’t.

If you select your phone then choose “custom” design, you can order just the camera plateau pieces. The BOGOF also works.

Wasn’t sure what would be best so ordered a transparent slick, transparent matte and orange one.

In the past I used aluminium covers I found in AliExpress that had no lens covering. I’ve tried looking for them for the 17 Pros but so far could only find a black one. I didn’t want anything that covered the lenses and I don’t want it in black so might look at it again in a few weeks. Here’s the black one -

Edit: This listing looks to be the same thing with no lens covering, with the 17 Pro colours available. https://a.aliexpress.com/_msu6Ua9

Going to order one in orange and see how I go compared to those skins.
Thanks. I actually ordered one from the company I linked to and it arrived in a few days, so they turned out to be legit. Haven't tried installing it yet though.

Good luck. Here’s a link to my install.

Didn’t follow the instructions and did a dry install rather than liquid like they suggest, but happy with how it came out.

The aluminium plate arrived today also, the type that doesn’t add any glass over the cameras. It has a bit of a dent on the lower left camera so I’ll have a look at whether they can swap that as it might scratch the lens if used as it’d push into the cameras surround. However, I’m happy with the skin I have applied so not planning on using one of these anyway just yet anyhow. Here’s pics of what it looks like next to the plateau space as well as dropped in on top of the camera area but not attached with the double sided tape. Fits nicely in the case.

The damage on this one sucks, but past ones I’ve had didn’t have that.

Day 2 with the Flolab 3D and no noticeable build up or dust on the edges. Doesn’t seem to smudge up too much imo, pretty solid so far. Will test the Torras OA when it gets here today.

I got the 3d flolab las week and removed it. It does cover the screen which is annoying. The torras doesn't so I went back to it, even though the AR is not as good as the flolab.

I have to get another protector in to see how much it really covers the display because it’s so minimal that using the case in everyday fashion you would never notice. If this protector does everything right and covers such a minimal area where it doesn’t really matter, I’m fine.

I'm OCD, once i see it, i can't unsee it haha, have you tried the 3D Hoda for the 17 pro max? someone else mentioned it doesn't cover the screen but I dont know the brand so not sure.

I respect that and how much these protectors are, you want things to be correct. When I get home this evening, I’m going to try the Caudabe Elite and then the Torras OA. I’ve ran the Caudabe but never checked if it cut into the display. Hearing good things about the Torras OA so I’ll report back.

No I haven’t used that Hoda before. Yeah if I don’t know the brand, I usually don’t pay attention but there could be some sleepers out there.

Here’s a comparison between the CrystalShield and OrigArmor, and yes the CrystalShield does cover the vertical pixels slightly:

So it really sounds like there is no perfect protector, they all have something that’s a negative, you just have to figure out which one you’re willing to deal with.

Man the other companies have had 2 years to fix their screen protector borders and they still get lazy and make the border the same size as the 17 pros screen protector knowing dang well the max has thinner bezels. This is almost as bad as no CC button on cases

Got a link for that aluminum plate?

Has anyone tested the Nillkin AR Protector? It boasts a better AR coating then Torras, significantly cheaper and doesn't have black borders even though it's 3D. However I couldn't find a single review. I do trust the Nillkin name but considering even other premium brands have bad AR, it might not the case.

What u planning on doing with your Shellrus?

Haven’t installed mine yet, but thinking about returning mine due to the light bleed and covered pixels from a YouTube video highlighting it on the iPhone 16 Pro Max. But I’m guessing they may gave me some pushback due to getting it at a discounted rate, as well as probably saying those issues doesnt affect functionality.

I already ordered the same one as Hoda’s sapphire protector on AliExpress, but at least I can return it if there’s issues. Only thing that concerns me is that notch at the top of the speaker, which may lift with my Caudabe Sheath:

I’m willing to sacrifice the etched branding and less edge protection on this Sapphire protector for no scratches. As great as the OrigArmor is, I can’t stand the micro-scratches from barely any screen usage.

So I just took the Flolab 3D off and slapped the Torras OrigArmor on. The Flolab was solid and still didn’t develop dust around the edges, it’s my winner for right now.

This Torras feels very good around the edges, installation was a breeze once I figured out how to use the tool lol. I’ll report back after the weekend to see if I see any scratches develop.

Alignment seems to be very good on the Torras. I think it’s a tad better than the Flolab.

I’m almost 3 weeks in with my Torras OrigArmor and have scratches all over. You can only see them under lights.

I returned mine. Gonna live with the scratches on the origarmor for now

How is the Torras’ oleophobic coating vs Flolab?

Did you apply the Torras on a base model? It still fit nicely?

I feel it’s a little better, doesn’t get as “smudgy” imo. I usually don’t pay close attention to that so I’m going to have to do some more comparisons. Torras is solid right now but I feel if you’re a serial case switcher like myself, you might find to Torras almost too close to the edge because some cases push it up in the corner.

I wanted to give Torras Orig Armor a try but they don't have them for base 17. Someone wrote on reddit that 17 Pro and base screens are the same, but I'm pretty sure they'd mention on their site it fits both. Flolab is not an option, yesterday I got Caudabe Elite AR and other than it a fingerptint magnet, it covers the screen even more than Flolab Infinity Edge. Is there another 3D option that has AR and good oleophobic coating or will there always be a sacrifice? 😅

I am in the same boat as you. All of them has some kind of sacrifice even though they have like %800 premium margin which sucks. Torras has full coverage but they don't have warranty if you try to apply to your base model 17. Flolab has the best AR coating but suffers a lot from QC issues and the edge is 2 times thicker than Torras (0.4mm vs 0.9mm) which causes covered pixels on the edges. It covers a hairline but some people can't live with it after seeing Torras first. I will never buy Caudabe again due to past issues I had so IDK about that. There is only Nillkin Pure AR screen protector remaining that is being sold in Western market (There are protectors that are better than flolab for cheaper in the Chinese market but it is impossible to import basically). Nillkin boasts better AR then Torras but there is no black on the edges at all which gives the rainbow effect, especially if the lips of your case is very low, like leather or techwoven cases.

My personal opinion is to wait until there are Nillkin reviews either on Ali or Youtube, then make a decision. Flolab is great but only when you get a good batch. It has so many QC issues, no one in their right mind should buy from them IMO. The real decision is whether Torras or Nillkin is the better deal. If Torras fixes its scratch gate/release base model adapter, Torras wins. If Nillkin proves itself that it has at least equivalent AR to Torras, Nillkin wins.
