I am in the same boat as you. All of them has some kind of sacrifice even though they have like %800 premium margin which sucks. Torras has full coverage but they don't have warranty if you try to apply to your base model 17. Flolab has the best AR coating but suffers a lot from QC issues and the edge is 2 times thicker than Torras (0.4mm vs 0.9mm) which causes covered pixels on the edges. It covers a hairline but some people can't live with it after seeing Torras first. I will never buy Caudabe again due to past issues I had so IDK about that. There is only Nillkin Pure AR screen protector remaining that is being sold in Western market (There are protectors that are better than flolab for cheaper in the Chinese market but it is impossible to import basically). Nillkin boasts better AR then Torras but there is no black on the edges at all which gives the rainbow effect, especially if the lips of your case is very low, like leather or techwoven cases.

My personal opinion is to wait until there are Nillkin reviews either on Ali or Youtube, then make a decision. Flolab is great but only when you get a good batch. It has so many QC issues, no one in their right mind should buy from them IMO. The real decision is whether Torras or Nillkin is the better deal. If Torras fixes its scratch gate/release base model adapter, Torras wins. If Nillkin proves itself that it has at least equivalent AR to Torras, Nillkin wins.
Interesting, I had no idea Nillkin makes AR screen protectors, or screen protectors in general 😅 I found a review with images on AliExpress and the edges seem off, like the border is semi-transparent or something. I will wait to see if maybe I get a confirmation that Orig Armor for either 16 or 17pro would fit my phone or see if Nillkin or some other company comes out with something better that doesn't have too many compromises. Thanks!

Yeah, that's what I meant. Torras seems to the best choice currently even with its issues. Unfortunately, they don't have a base model mount and they void the warranty if you try to apply to your base manually.
Ahhhh ok, that’s wild actually that they don’t have a mount. Yeah right now I’m really liking the Torras. Flolab is really good too and it cuts into the display so minimal that it doesn’t really matter. I’m waiting to see if the scratches show up with the Torras.

I wanted to give Torras Orig Armor a try but they don't have them for base 17. Someone wrote on reddit that 17 Pro and base screens are the same, but I'm pretty sure they'd mention on their site it fits both. Flolab is not an option, yesterday I got Caudabe Elite AR and other than it a fingerptint magnet, it covers the screen even more than Flolab Infinity Edge. Is there another 3D option that has AR and good oleophobic coating or will there always be a sacrifice? 😅

The 17 and 17 pro have the same screen. It’ll fit. Only difference is the installation tray is made for the 17 pro with the camera continent.

Just don’t tell them you installed it on a base model iPhone. What is screen protector warranty even good for tho? Honest question. Usually if I break mine it’s my fault so i just order a new one. Any other issues related to the protector itself I just return on Amazon

If that is the case it shouldn't be an issue I guess, if phones are the same size my phone should fit the tray. If I had a pro and a base 17 tray that would be a problem. I'll try and order it off Amazon probably and check out myself. It's just weird they don't have a base 17 option, but they also don't make their best case versions for base model either.

I don't have to tell them, they ask for a photo before each warranty processing. Also we don't have it on Amazon here in Europe. The installation tray will fit but using it with a base model voids the "as many free replacements as you want until perfect fit or no screen bubbles/dust".

Please do let us know. I didn't buy it myself, I just read some YouTube/Reddit comments and contacted their mail.

I found it on amazon.de, that's where I'm ordering from. It doesn't have OrigArmor in the title but it does say it's AR so I assumed it's not a regular GlassGo variant.

The only one I found was with Origarmor AR in the title, no other AR Torras ones. You can check yours by the installation tool pictures. However, it comes to around 20 euros more expensive where as origarmour from their site is 27EUR+Free Shipping (NL). Warranty might be better or not but I suspect they won't do an easy exchange like Amazon USA does since their return policy recently changed to unused product in 14 days for fulfillment items.

Edit: I think I found the one you are talking about. If it's 24 EUR, that's GlassGo not OrigArmor.

Thanks for doing this comparison. Been following your posts. Interested to hear your final thoughts on a comparison.

I have the Torras currently - really happy with it so far. Like many have said, very easy and perfect installation alignment all the way around, no pixels blocked, it feels and looks really really great.

I’m actually enjoying doing this because this thread made me look at my screen protectors closer. I normally just use whatever brand I had and it was ok for me but now I’m really trying to distinguish the coating, alignments and other aspect now and that matters when these protectors aren’t cheap.

I’m also enjoying the Torras protector as well. No complaints so far. I like Flolab as well but it does cut into the display a little.

So yeah the testing phase is still ongoing.

You are right, I don’t know why they wrote AR in the title then. I gave it some thought and decided to keep Elite AR on my phone even though I’m not that happy with it until better option comes up for base model. Or until dispute with Flolab is over and then put that money towards a new one. I’ve had a pretty bad month with 2 flawed Caudabe cases and a Flolab protector I’m not ready to test my luck again 😄

Yeah as I said, the real choice here is Torras vs Nillkin. I am using a 1EUR screen protector as well :( I met someone that ordered all of them, he should receive Nillkin by Wednesday. I will post here his thoughts as well.

I ended up ordering the Torras because of the reports of people having the Flolab and it covers up a tiny bit of the screen. That's a no for me, and would bother me.

After seeing your comment about Nillkin, I went to their website to browse around. Decent price, cheaper than Torras and Flolab which is great. But I'm a tab confused with their options. They have a 3D version which isn't a fully coverage. I'm not too familiar with their products, but do you know if their 3D version extends to the edge of the phone screen like the Torras or Flolab version? This would be really sweet if it did since Their 3D version doesn't have a black border. They also have a fully coverage option which does have the black border, but the downside is, it seems to not be 3D, which is gonna be a tad more annoying since it'll extend to the edge, but then you get that sharp / rough edge like a generic glass protector. Am I missing something or did I misread something? Feels odd to offer a 3D version that isn't fully coverage since that's the selling point of the 3D version.

the warranty in my experience covers damage caused by yourself. Their form even asks how you damaged it so there’s an assumption it is caused by wear/use. So to that end the value of the warranty is that I’m up for about $10 AUD international shipping rather than $60 AUD when I damage the premium screen protector and need to replace it.

I’ve made one claim with them in the past when a protector was cracked and it went through fine.

I like having knowing that’s there to fall back on. Personally I couldn’t justify replacing a relatively more expensive $50 or $60AUD protector multiple times as a few people here have already with their 17’s. Not that I have an issue with people doing that, but that’s just not for me. Ideally I want to buy once, or I’ll be looking at whatever’s cheapest on Amazon and have to accept a few more concession.

Looks like a lot of people going Zagg have gone that way for the same reason.

Anyway, still waiting on my Flolab to arrive. Final leg of shipping has been sloooow.

I found a listing for their AR glass on Aliexpress and a review with this image. It looks like the border is black but semi-transparent or something. It looks like it’s covering edges of the screen from what I see on top and bottom of the phone. And the glass looks thick also.

I asked about this on aliexpress, they told me it covers the entire display and it is impossible **** it up but honestly you never know until a review is out. Full coverage option is not AR, it’s their old model.

By them, you mean Torras? I thought Torras had free replacements, if you still pay for shipping, Flolab might not be completely out of the picture.

This is not “Pure 3D Edge AR” which is called “H+ Amazing Pro AR”. This review is from the older version without AR and 2.5D edge called “H+ Pro Amazing”. And yes, **** their naming scheme.

Hey man, I love your case review videos, very irl related tests, no number ********. Would you say flolab would be your clear winner if it didn’t have that hairline pixel coverage or are there other factors you don’t like?

Thanks bro I appreciate that. I have been liking the Flolab a little better, the Torras is great also but as a case switcher like myself, I’ve had a couple cases start to peel up my top right corner. The Flolab cuts into the display soooo minimal but nobody can really tell and it’s a mind thing. Doesn’t bother me so the Flolab is winning me right now.

Hey, quick question, how did you get the those corner L's to show up in your camera app?

I ended up getting the Torras based off of your review. Didn't like how the Flolab one covers a bit of the actual screen itself. Want to make sure this Torras one doesn't cover the screen, but can't figure out how to get the corner L's to show up in the camera app. If it's a photo screenshot, can you attach it, so I can download it. Thanks in advance, appreciate the help.

Would love to know if that’s the case. I emailed them (Torras) to ask what they cover around accidental damage but never got a response. The website says their warranty policy doesn’t cover damage caused by the user which will probably be any damage for a screen protector, but perhaps in practice their more lenient and the policy is there to cover them.

End of the day the uncertainty and lack of support response coupled with reports of scratching is what made me go with Flolab, since I’ve had experience with their returns.

The ESR screen protector on my Air has soooo many scratches. Wondering if the scratches would just show up on the screen protector but not on the Air given its tougher screen. Debating if to just not use a screen protector
