I’ve seen enough photos of dents and crumples with this phone that I’m not too surprised. Just installing an Arc Pulse can cause the body to deform. It needs some internal reinforcement. I’d love to see them add an internal titanium frame to support the aluminum.
That's very sad if it's that soft. I thought it was fake too. Just catching up on this thread, so I'm a bit late in responding to this topic.

This is the go 😉 in the reddit thread.

Guess you can now buy the Tank in Best Buy stores. Wonder if they are Gen 1 or 2 being sold in stores?

The rep I spoke with said it would take a while before BB had any of the newest stock. I tried twice and got v1 (technically v1.5). Ended up getting a direct copy that had the most recent changes.

What’s the difference?

The original Tank had a one piece volume button design. As far as I know, the first revision separated the volume into two individual buttons. The most recent revision added an updated camera control button and supposedly improved the tolerances on the cutouts.

Easiest way to tell is shiny/glossy cc button is the newest version.

I knew it would past the drop test.
I was not sure. The Gen7 is really minimalistic and there’s just not much material acting as a cushion here. I still think it’s not the best at absorbing the force going into the phone. But I definitely trust it more now. I still prefer the PR Air over the Gen 7 though. Wish that one came with the TPE corners.
