Why? Lots of very nice demonstrations of what not to do with your iPhone/iPhone case 😂

Like this nice picture:

Ouch.
Here’s the pic for those who don’t want to click through. Crumpled like a soda can.

I’ve seen enough photos of dents and crumples with this phone that I’m not too surprised. Just installing an Arc Pulse can cause the body to deform. It needs some internal reinforcement. I’d love to see them add an internal titanium frame to support the aluminum.
Is the 18 going to be any better?

Heads up: don’t drop your Torras Kickstand cases with the ring open:

😬

Coincidentally, I am in the q3 air today. It’s kind of a goofy case, but having the kickstand is nice - especially if you are not used to it. A bit slippery and screen lip is minimal at best.

It’s a shame that Mous didn’t put as much of this green stuff into their iPhone cases this time.

I think the prior few gens were probably overbuilt for the titanium frame models. Now they remove some TPE for cost/weight/space savings and the aluminum takes the durability hit.

Paragon is slick on the back much like a clear case. It works for me as the sides are very grippy. I've always used clear cases so this is not an issue for me and actually has more grip than the clear cases I've used. MagSafe on the Paragon is excellent.
Thank you so much for your response and description. I went ahead and purchased the ember closed version. I just wanted a comprehensive orange case.

I think you'll be happy with it. I have both the midnight and the azurite precise with several different color buttons that I change out from time to time. I haven't seen or found a case I like better. I also have the black TechWoven that I do enjoy as well just not as much as the Paragon.

Doesn’t make sense to me on a butter soft aluminium phone to have a metal ring surrounding the camera pleateau. Adds nothing to the protection. One serious drop on the back…

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It collects a lot of detritus under there, too. Another reason I benched it.
The metal ring doesn't touch the phone...it screws into the plastic back (at least on the frosted version). However, the paint will chip off said metal ring even without a drop. That is why I don't like the metal ring.

Yeah, mine started chipping after a week.
And even if the ring is not actively touching the phone, it might in a hard fall. Guess we’ll see as soon as four eyed tech guy posts his drop test.

Maybe that is a bad batch of rings, but I was using the silver and did not and still do not have any chipping of any paint. Oddly, it should be anodized and so chipping or flaking should not be happening. As for the ring hitting the phone, I can not attest to a 10 or 20 ft drop, but on a 6ft drop onto concrete, I had no issues. A slight blemish on the camera ring, a couple scrapes, but no phone damage. The screws do not touch (countersunk into the case), and unless you are throwing the phone like a baseball at something, I do not see the camera ring moving with the 6 or so screws holding it in place. Its the same way they have been doing the camera ring the past couple of years and there haven't been issues with it moving or deforming on any impacts.

It would be my daily driver if db had not created the Tank and if felt as good as it has.
