Back in the Tank for 5 minutes today. Gawd I hate that case. 😂 Basically it’s down to the Beats Rugged and the Nomad Rugged for me. It’s going to be a long 18 months…
Have a feeling you will cave for the 18 Pro/Max 🤔

Honestly, my Tank is getting zero use over here 😯 been a month or two since I've had it on the phone

I definitely have a track record of caving… lol. I’m actually relatively happy with the 17PM though, and can’t think of one reason to upgrade other than to have an excuse to buy more cases. Honestly, I kind of wish I would’ve just kept my 16PM. I am happy that my wife ended up with the Air though—she seems to like it and plans to keep it until it dies.

It’s heavy, extremely uncomfortable, and to my tastes, ugly as sin. The only thing I like about it are the buttons. I only bought it out of boredom and a bit of curiosity, which are never good reasons.

Are you considering the “Ultra” at all, or are folders out of the question for you?

Folders are definitely not for me. I'm really going to try and stick with the orange beater for another year. I waste way too much money on phones and cases, really need to quit this bad behavior 😩

The Tank is still my go to number one allrounder case and I slap it on every time I know I won’t have time to worry about my phone. It’s not the most comfortable case, but I love that I don’t have to think about how to hold my phone when the tank is on. It’s grippy no matter where you grab it. And it will survive any drop. Still my 🐐. (it’s more comfortable to me than the Beats rugged btw. That dot texture on the bottom feels like very coarse sandpaper after a while.)

In other news, the replacement Mous sent me for my Aramid case with the warped CC button area arrived yesterday and it’s absolutely flawless. The case lottery is crazy.

I wish that there weren't so many lotteries 😳

Unfortunately, it's a thing with many items- phone cases, TVs computers and almost anything else. Glad you got a perfect case the second time though 🙂

I feel the same way with the Sheath about it being an all rounder except it’s not as drop protective as the Tank and for me is very comfy to hold.

You didn't ask me, so I hope you don't mind the interruption...

Folding phones are out to the question for me. I have zero interest in them. I'm always open to new ideas, but it would take a lot for me to carry around a foldable phone unless it had something other than a big screen going for it. I also don't think I could deal wit the moving parts. I'm too particular with my hardware. It would be a nightmare... 😳

So many people have issues with Mous cases.
Mous charge too much for their cases for it to have that many issues.

I agree. But that goes for so many case makers. I had borked cases from Bellroy, Caudabe, Mous, Spigen and ESR. Even my Beats rugged is slightly misaligned at the bottom (had two other beats rugged here that had the same issue). Same goes for my Rhinoshield cases and the Catalyst Influence. It’s an absolute lottery all around.

Thinking of buying the Mous Limitless. Which Mous case has the most issues? Aramid Fibre? Marine Blue?

I love that thin thing ☺️

With the Beats Rugged, if I insert the phone one side first it is off a tiny amount, but then if I take the phone out and insert the opposite side first, the alignment is perfect. I’ve noticed this with a fair number of other cases too. Might be worth a try if you haven’t already.

I don't have any interest in folding phones either, but I've always been intrigued by the flips. I tried the Z Flip 6 for a couple of weeks and loved the form factor, but I just can't get past the idea that the screen will eventually fail from opening and closing. I know they say it'll survive 10k openings/closings, but I've seen enough fail in 6 months or so that it makes me too nervous.

I actually prefer the RAZR form factor and software over the Z Flip, but Motorola's updates are nonexistent and I'm used to my Pixel updates that are like clockwork every month.

And I agree about spending too much on cases and phones. You should try being me with the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Galaxy S26 Ultra, and 17 Pro. I actually had the OnePlus 15 as well for a bit, but once the news dropped that OnePlus was pulling out of the US, I sold it immediately.

Then again, phones replaced motorcycles as my hobby when I got married almost 10 years ago (my choice, not hers), so at least I'm not at risk of dying from trying new phones.

I won’t be buying a foldable, but if I did I would go caseless. Can you imagine the case issues? What a nightmare.
