Very possible. Expecting to see even a $100 increase. I think the increase in prices will be worldwide an not limited to US.

Companies will use any excuse to increase pricing. COVID? Inflation? Tariffs? We need more money!

Then proceed to see record profit growth. Hell, Microsoft trying to use tariffs when they implemented a GLOBAL price markup, including digital goods, had to be the funniest one yet.

I hope so. It's not fair that everyone has to pay for whatever happens in the US. I am not an American citizen so why should I be affected by what is happening in the US or by Trump's decisions. American citizens voted for Trump so their internal affairs problems should stay within the US borders.
Will be curious about Euro prices. According to exchange rate developments they should actually decrease. I bet they won't and we'll pay the Trump prices, too. In fact, Apple might even increase them for optics, because they are afraid to visibly pass along the tarif costs.
I don't think we Europeans should be dragged into US problems and inflation because of the American President poor decision making. America voted for him so they should pay for their own inflation.
The best way to recoup tariff increases to spread the price increases to all markets so I'm guessing prices will be increasing in many places for the next iPhone.
I disagree with you. I don't think the rest of the world should pay because Trump's poor decision making. He should listen more to the right people and less to the wrong people.

As bad as it affects the EU, the effect is even worse here in Canada. :(

IMO its a bit silly to have this post under political.

If it had been environmental issues, recycling issues, work-life balance issues, child labour issues et al. discussed then fine.

But as is, its a) a bit degrading for a bunch of adults being told we can’t behave so we have to be put in the ball pen and also b) it’s a bit degrading that a bunch of adult can’t get over themselves enough if someone’s a bit rude to them or uses potty mouth language they find offensive.

What were we discussing again? Og, new iPhones. If they are not TRULY new iPhones, it’s a bit omga disgrace really.

Not only is it beyond doubt that other manufacturers (yes you, you know who you are) have caught up AND indeed have surpassed the iPhone per today’s standards…Apple is already charging way too much for what it is delivering. Especially in the memory and storage department. If we for arguments sake say Apple indeed is a "luxury device manufacturer" (whatever that is), the pricing is still Ludacris (big L).

Apple, as a ecosystem, is objectively no longer worth the asking price under any type or form of evaluation.

Considering nearly everyone leases or is on a payment plan, they could double the price and people would still buy it.

The general public has no idea how much things really cost. A $30,000 car loan ends up being nearly double after interest. Same with houses, etc etc.

People are using BNPL for groceries and televisions.

Presumably that’s for the big ass periscope lens which is going under that camera bump

And I don’t think we Americans should have been dragged into European problems and ending up spending hundreds of billions over decades because the European politicians continuously refused to invest in their own defense while at the same time allowing themselves to become overly dependent on Russia. So the mighty Europe was pretty much caught pants down when Putin invaded Ukraine, and is not even sure whether they could defend the Baltic states next. That was some grand decision making. And not just by one politician in one term.

Yet, here we are.

This is turning into a political argument and they are useless. Especially on a forum like this.

This feels wrong to me. Does Apple sell ANY product in the US that ends in 49.99? I feel like, if they bump the price, expect $100 bucks.

Or include more iCloud space for backups? Almost said that with a straight face. 🤣

The problem with iCloud is nay the storage levels, nay the pricing. It’s just so daggnabit SLOW!!

I sit with a fibre 1Gbps internet connection and a WiFi 6e router. And I have a have a bunch of scanned tiff images stored in iCloud. Using my phone or iPad to even get the thumbnails to load is laughable. Opening an image? Hah! To open a 35MB tiff should for all intent and purposes be INSTANT. Secret time. Its not.

I mainly use Jottacloud….another cloudy storage solution. It’s just SNAPPY. Opening a folder with 30-40 images and the thumbnails populate almost INSTANTLY. Opening a tiff is like opening an image in Photos.

With the Apple AI debacle, I believe poor iCloud performance has gotten under the radar. And the people who’ve always used it are just content because that’s how it’s always been.

And the interconnectivity beetween Apple devices and services has been a pillow for Apple to rest their laurels. Which is honestly looking pretty brown on the edges by now by ANY standards.

AI was a farce, and somewhat understandable albeit embarrassing. But iCloud is far worse IMHO because of how long Apple has had to deal with it. And FW is also getting long innthe tooth…and NO. GLASS ISNT REMOTELY NEW. It’s basically just an Android skin.

1. iOS
2. iCloud
3. iPhone HW lag
4. Apple AI

I believe 3 has suffered from 1,2 and 3. and 1, 2 and 3 are issues because of internal structures and politics.

Aluminium is a downgrade from Titanium, ideally should have reduced price by $100 the least

It really doesn’t matter one way or the other, as long as structural integrity and weight is more or less equal. Personally I can’t stand the touch of raw titanium.

I wish Apple took a page from Samsung and offered some pre-order perks like double the storage for a limited time or ANYTHING but I guess they are still doing too well ... Here is your price increase, give us nothing
You mean the Samsung that discounts all their products by 30-40% after introduction and is featured in a Samsung sale article here on MR every other month?

Unfortunately “should” isn’t going to come into it. Expect most companies with large US markets to increase prices globally.

We have had iPhone price increase imminent for like 4 years now...
I'll just wait til the actual release and see ...

Wall Street analysts need clicks to justify their being...

I’ve never leased and I can’t remember the last time I got one on a mobile contract, probably the original SE. Most people I know either buy outright or use the mobile contract method (although I try to point out how silly that is)

Maybe in the US and Canada, but not everyone lives there.

Actually, I'm in Canada, and I haven't gotten a phone from a carrier in well over a decade. And the only reason I would get the carrier phones 15 years ago was because they were cheap Android phones I could get for $0 that I could immediately resell, since I would usually be using the iPhone I purchased outright at full price.

It’s wild actual adults believe this childlike nonsense. Gee, if no one bought food, they wouldn’t have jacked up the price so much over the past few years 🤪🤪🤪 I can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner!

Yes. Let’s all “vote with our wallets”! What a revelation. I know. Word hard and you’ll get ahead! Or wait. Price vs demand! Yes, it must be that.

I swear people just operate on ragebait these days.
Are you denying the principle of business? That's how it works, they raise price because they know people are willing to pay more and sales figures are going UP.
If you raged, it's not my fault, read my signature.

Some people agreed, some other laughed some there disagreed, there is 1 that replied with nonsense and raged.....I am not the problem here.

I am not gonna say sorry for striking a nerve I didn't know it was there.

Raising prices again doesn’t even make sense. Apple earns way more than enough on every product and pays very little to the people in the production chain.

Also, if the US tariffs spill over to EU I’ll skip iPhone 17 and many more and so should every EU citizen.
When was the last iPhone price increase??
