I think the pro's have a lower profit margin compared to the AIR. The air has all the components crammed into the plateau. No lidar, no extra lenses, only 1 speaker, no MMwave, etc. The air's benefit is that it's thin, but its actual parts are cheap. The cost for the AIR is in R&D, but actual physical components, the profit margin is much higher on the air.Pretty sure the pros have a higher profit margin, so that makes no sense.
thanks for showing that case.Around 70% of all people use cases on their phones.
The colors of the phone is for the initial buying impulse you have when you're in the store or shopping online.
You can choose to have a black case with accents of the phone being visible like below.

Or something that also covers the plateau.

All an all the color of the phone is most relevant when you're buying it - and Apple knows this very well.

Have been their fan since used their case on my 14Pro.thanks for showing that case.
i had never heard of Rincke before your post.
these people really know case design!
am definitely getting the iPhone Air's case from this company.
it really protects the plateau area. and the Air really needs protection there.
thanks again.

It'll be out in the spring when they need a quick headline. Holding it back could be a tiny amount of social engineering from Apple to encourage early adopters to get something that isn't a neutral shade. In this way more are out in the world and are casually spotted on public transport.I'm really bummed there isn't a black option this year. The orange looks amazing, but it's not something I would vibe with for me. I oscillated a bit between blue and silver, but the blue, while a nice looking color for sure, also doesn't resonate with me. I really do like the silver, though I have concerns about whether or not I'll be annoyed by the silver trim that'll be visible around the edge of the phone while I'm looking at the screen. Black frames kinda disappear; silver maybe not so much.
Only one way to find out, so I'm giving silver a try this year. 😬
I'm definitely not one of those 70%. I've had every flagship iPhone since the original, have never put a case on any of them, and never will.
For me, the color choice is quite impactful; it'll be how I see the phone for an entire year.
I don’t understand. Orange isn’t the only color. There’s the blue one and silver one. Both work in “professional” environments.Ridiculous that both the Air and base 17 have a professional color option while the pros don’t 👎🏻
Not everyone uses a case, and not everyone wants to stare at some flashy / ugly phone color the next 1-4 years until they upgrade.
You haven’t seen high powered executives wearing one small piece of item that’s flashy when they’re in the board room? Think glasses, socks, shoes, tie, belt. I’ve seen a lot of it. The phone in orange will work just fine. You are free to take your bright orange cellphone into the boardroom if you consider it to be a prof
I’m on the 12 Pro and I don’t intend to upgrade, but orange would be the color I choose too.Still not sold on upgrading from my 14PM, but if I do then orange has to be the way to go!
I’d love to try that myself. How long do you keep your phone? I keep mine until it has to be upgraded. I’m on the 12 Pro and have had that for almost 5 years.I'm definitely not one of those 70%. I've had every flagship iPhone since the original, have never put a case on any of them, and never will.

I'm sure the design team have crative freedom with a vast understadnign of color, design.I really wish that show didn’t exist 🤦🏻♂️
No, orange is not the new black.
Apple design team are just morons and figured they’d give their customers an annoyance that they’ll “correct” next year (for more $$$ via upgrade) 🙄

Yeah no need to rush. I do not think the Pro’s will be hard to get this year with Apple unexpectedly dropping the usual Space Black or Space Grey colors they usually have for the Pro Models. Customers have to get used to this new Loud orange 🍊 color. The Air I predict is going to sell like Hot Cakes 🥞 because it’s like the iPhone X and it looks like the Future. 📱I applaud anyone who does their research before buying. 🥰
I’ve read posts in past years where someone ordered multiple colors then decided which one to keep.
So wasteful.
You're completely wrong. 17 Pro and 17 already sold out - Air still available on launch date. Nobody wants to have the Air ;-)Yeah no need to rush. It looks that way. Perhaps Apple also assumed the Pro's would be less popular & released fewer as opposed to the Air.You're completely wrong. 17 Pro and 17 already sold out - Air still available on launch date. Nobody wants to have the Air ;-)
indeed, my order (UK) was placed at 13:04. Out of curiosity I tried again a few minutes later & they were already gone.Silver is not available for day one pick up.![]()
