When I look at Cosmic Orange I think Hermes orange and why not? All the luxury houses have their own interpretation of orange. Even Louis Vuitton boxes are orange.

I think the pro's have a lower profit margin compared to the AIR. The air has all the components crammed into the plateau. No lidar, no extra lenses, only 1 speaker, no MMwave, etc. The air's benefit is that it's thin, but its actual parts are cheap. The cost for the AIR is in R&D, but actual physical components, the profit margin is much higher on the air.
Now that they are done with R&D, they probably are happy to sell AIR's as they are nearly the same price as the pro, but have less "stuff" in them.

I’m between blue and silver. I love the blue, but I feel like it won’t look good with many cases. I don’t like the clear cases. :/ I already bought a blue case from Mous.
I'm really bummed there isn't a black option this year. The orange looks amazing, but it's not something I would personally vibe with. I oscillated a bit between blue and silver, but the blue, while a nice looking color for sure, also doesn't resonate with me. I really do like the silver, though I have concerns about whether or not I'll be annoyed by the silver trim that'll be visible around the edge of the phone while I'm looking at the screen. Black frames kinda disappear; silver maybe not so much.
Only one way to find out, so I'm giving silver a try this year. 😬

I'm definitely not one of those 70%. I've had every flagship iPhone since the original, have never put a case on any of them, and never will.
For me, the color choice is quite impactful; it'll be how I see the phone for an entire year.

It'll be out in the spring when they need a quick headline. Holding it back could be a tiny amount of social engineering from Apple to encourage early adopters to get something that isn't a neutral shade. In this way more are out in the world and are casually spotted on public transport.

More seriously I agree. I run mine without a case unless I'm going out. But I'm going for blue because I go to places I don't want to attract attention to it.
I don’t understand. Orange isn’t the only color. There’s the blue one and silver one. Both work in “professional” environments.
You haven’t seen high powered executives wearing one small piece of item that’s flashy when they’re in the board room? Think glasses, socks, shoes, tie, belt. I’ve seen a lot of it. The phone in orange will work just fine.
I’m on the 12 Pro and I don’t intend to upgrade, but orange would be the color I choose too.
My 12 Pro has the Pacific Blue color. That was one of the most gorgeous pairings
I’d love to try that myself. How long do you keep your phone? I keep mine until it has to be upgraded. I’m on the 12 Pro and have had that for almost 5 years.
I'm sure the design team have crative freedom with a vast understadnign of color, design.
And surely they have tested many shades, colors to come up with these 3 to be the best colors this design has to offer.

I say FINALLY the pro max gets a fun color. I like a bright color because it makes the phone easier to find in low light or in a bag, etc. Most people throw a case on anyway but I may go naked for the first time ever!
Yeah no need to rush. I do not think the Pro’s will be hard to get this year with Apple unexpectedly dropping the usual Space Black or Space Grey colors they usually have for the Pro Models. Customers have to get used to this new Loud orange 🍊 color. The Air I predict is going to sell like Hot Cakes 🥞 because it’s like the iPhone X and it looks like the Future. 📱
It looks that way. Perhaps Apple also assumed the Pro's would be less popular & released fewer as opposed to the Air.
