I will be excited to hear more details about the C2 Modem next year. The C1 has been getting good reviews on performance and how it saves on battery 🔋 life efficiently.

Not yet.

I will say going from the 15 PM with an x70 to the 17 PM with the x80 has made little difference at my home. Upload speeds are a bit faster but the difference has been minimal.
I bet Apple’s C2 modem does better next year and makes a difference.

They may need to do a modem update as the phone just launched. You have Verizon or T-Mobile?

You mean comparison between iPhone Air Modem and iPhone Pro Max modem? Too early give it another week or so.
Don't think it'll be a whole week given how quickly full teardowns and battery tests come out these days. I think a couple of days or so we'll have something

Haven’t noticed anything substantial at this time. Also haven’t done a ton of traveling with it yet. Areas that were weak are still weak, but I wasn’t expecting a new modem to magically fix that.
Try turning off the phone for 4 minutes and then turn back on after 4 minutes.

Apple may still do a Firmware update for the modem in the near future.

In my experience each new iPhone initially has somewhat worse performance cellular wise than the previous iPhone. I believe it takes time for apple to optimize new hardware via the modem and carrier firmware. Which of course also involves the other parties so it doesn’t happen overnight. I especially remember the iPhone 12 Pro. It took a whole year to get that thing running as it should. It was quite frustrating. I historically do a lot of speed tests for various reasons so I know on average what looks right and when a phone is not hitting the mark. Food for thought, I do think overtime the 17s will perform very well.

I remember back in the day when “modem firmware update” popups used to appear on your screen in iOS And then your iPhone started to perform faster cellular wise.

Have you seen any speeds tests for the new C1X modem in the iPhone Air? I was thinking of getting the Air maybe over the 17 Pro.

Probably not. The Silicone battery 🔋 was only meant for the iPhone Air because it is so razor 🪒 thin. The Pro Max will always get the biggest battery 🔋 and the 5,000mAh battery in the 17 pro model is more than enough battery juice. Get a Apple 🍎 battery MagSafe pack if you need more juice.
Android phones have 7,000mAh & 8,000mAh batteries without external battery pack

Apple is the status quo and follows their own Standard and will never give you top of the line like Samsung does. They want profit more than anything and 5,000mAh like I said is more than enough.

Except the Air doesn’t use a SiC battery

From iFixit's teardown. I am curious about this SDR875, https://www.techinsights.com/blog/qualcomm-sdr875 this site says it is part of the X75 modem. So no changes for the X80?

Personally I haven't been noticing dramatically faster speeds. One thing annoying me is when I switch to 5G from Wi-Fi, it briefly connects to 5G UC and then goes back to regular 5G. Is this happening to anyone else?
