Giving this the benefit of the doubt, this larger bump could house a more robust telephoto periscope lens.

If the camera bar is that large, it must be a mini screen for taking selfies in closed-shell mode like on the Z flip.

i think that rumor mill would be much more active about now if this was the case for 17 Pro - unless they bring over some AVP tech for an all new AR experience
My guesses:

1. New easily discernible design after several years of the same design.

2. More room for (even larger) camera module near the FaceID system and other components. Could allow for non-Max Pro to get same camera upgrades as Pro Max instead of waiting another year.
this is most likely and in the end, a compromised design. possibly for better use cases on the front of the display i.e. face id, smaller island, etc.
It’s very straightforward to think that the blank space perfectly fits a small OLED screen and it blends in well. Why nobody was commenting that.
it took apple 5+ years to keep the front display Always On, no way they already have the tech and use case for a screen on the back

If this is real it means it’s time to sell. Your devices, your stock, all of it.

looks like it's a leak for Apple to figure out who is leaking information. don't think they would release this

Looks like it is very possible that this will be the design. Hopefully there will be some nice new color this year. Waiting to hear more about the 17 Pro Max in the coming months.

Well it is distinctive. Upon seeing it, anyone would be able to tell it is an iPhone 17 pro, not to be confused with an earlier iPhone model or a Pixel phone. Just don’t expect many compliments.

it’s only natural for cells to divide and grow more complex. Is this what we’re witnessing now in the iPhone? Have we reached a level of post-minimalism?

The current design is a seasaw. you can’t set it on a flat surface and press the screen without it flopping around like a ****** cafe table. Maybe they want to fix that.

I believe this one. I can see where this is going in the long run? 🤔

Do these people actually take a step back and look at these terrible renders before they post them? I doubt Apple would do something this ugly.
We are not used to it. Many times rumors were right, people said it would be icky, the accepted and loved it. For example with iPhone 11 Pro camera we have now.
