Hello,

i of course could not wait and had to install it manually, i know.. big Mistake!
But now i want to restore it, back, its just wrong and not ready yet, so i tired normal restore, which says the requested resource could not be found, then i tried it via recovery mode, and that gives me an error 20 restore could not be completed! Any ideas?

THX

At worst surely u cud upgrade/restore to the 'official' 2.0 tomorrow if its any different... id hope it was a little quicker and a little less bulky ;D

You tried to install a legit 2.0 onto an unlocked iPhone? (Correct me if I'm wrong, but...) What did you expect?

You'll probably have to wait until 2.0 is jailbroken in order to downgrade or stay unlocked. I'm going to guess 2.0 will be hacked in a few days to a week.

It was running 1.1.4 regular when I installed 2.0.

Same here,
i ran the previous 1.1.4 not broken or anything.....
and i am kind of worried, that if i check for updates tmrw
i thinks hey he has 2.0 so there are no updates!
So i rather want to go back to the original!

Can anyone with iphone 3g give us the build number

I wounder if there is anyone on here from down under. Can they post the build number from their 3g phone ?

Download the update from this site and it installed perfectly... All is well so far. A lot of nice updates.:apple:

I did update iTunes before I started

for those in this situation, is anything displayed on the iPhone's screen or is it just pitch black?

Hello,

i ran on my legal phone the 2.0 updater and it all works, just some things very slow and some not at all, i am also scared that the 2.0 Software will detect that i already have 2.0 and will not let me update, i tried all kinds of restores either i get error 20 or ressource can not be found!

Thank you

Seems to be running on my classic iPhone quit well. And..

If this version wasn't compatible with the classic iPhone you wouldn't be able to install it. I know for sure. You think Apple is really that stupid to allow a firmware designed for the 3G to be installed on the classic?

Really? if I was someone in Apple then this would be my thought process: "Do I really think that people are stupid enough find an unidentified link in an XML file, assume that its an update for 1 Gen phones, and actually download and install it?? "

I NEED HELP! i tried upgrading from 1.1.4 to this new 2.0 but my phone says it needs to be plugged into itunes and when i plug it in itunes days "iTunes has deteced an iPhone in recovery mode. You must retore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." so when i click ok and click resore it says "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (20)." PLEEEEASE HELP.

It's not completely black, shows the iTune logo on top and bottom the USB plug.

Mine is completely black, even if I try to reboot it. Also, it's recognized in iTunes as an iPhone in recovery mode requiring a restore, but restore has errors. Also, Capacity, Software Version, and Serial Number all say n/a....anyone else with same problem?

Like I said, those files are on my iPhone, but my iPhone doesn't see them. I'm not sure how to get the iPhone to recognize them again.

For future restores/updates, I'd make sure to click "sync", maybe use Syphone to save a log of your SMS's, mail your notes to yourself, and download all the photos, before restoring, just to be safe.

But again, I restored fully last night from a Jailbroken 1.1.4 to a Legit 1.1.4 and everything stayed on the phone (except for music and videos, but those are easy to put back on).

I know what it is now. When I got the new iPhone from genius bar the lady told me to set it up as a new phone do to what the problem was. Is there a way to put the back up information from the "old phone" onto the "new phone"

Installed 2.0 on my iPhone (Never been jailbroken) and it runs great! Running all the apps now and they are awesome. The remote app is just amazing. I am using it to control my Apple TV, and I can't go back to the standard remote.

I see the same thing.

Nevermind, I figured out how to restore it with this 2.0 software, but after the 2.0 is installed and I plug it into iTunes i just get the apple sign on my iphone screen along with the loading symbol, also it vibrates occasionally.....
