Did facebook always have a the badge notification feature? A friend sent me a message on face book and a red number one, just like mail or SMS showed up on the Facebook badge icon. I've gotten messages before and it didn't notify me on the badge. Plus this happened before I updated the new firmware.
I dunno, maybe that feature has always been there.

I'm pretty sure that was there before, or at least it was with V1.x...
Most of the time you won't be able to use edge and be in a phone call at the same time. I heard someone say that it depends on the tower, but I have never been able to use EDGE and talk at the same time...

i'm having some early problems with my iphone.
i bought a brand new iphone last night (i broke the shrinkwrapping myself). activated it at at&t store.
i registered it online and uploaded my contacts from Address Book.
this morning i installed 2.1 firmware. i wanted to download apps but the email address logged in was not mine. it was "dannycoward@yahoo.com" and i'm like WTF?
i dont know anybody with that name and i dont see why it would be linked to a diff. address!!! Also my battery got to red just now and my phone is moving slow as molasses! i had added a MS Exchange email to my account from work but it wasnt working so i thought maybe thats the problem... i deleted the account but it was talking over 15 mins and the account still wasnt deleted. I power cycle and its still incredibly slow.

It has. Everytime I have unread messages on Facebook and I open up the app, it'll broadcast it on the home screen.
No noob here. Yes restore. Yes power off power on. No errors on firmware update. Reverted to 2.0.2 no battery issues. Reinstalled 2.1 battery issues. Doubt a hardware fault occurred duing the same 2 hour period the battery is doing it's rapid drain and that happend to occur right after 2.1 update.
As far as contact lags - you guys may be talking about two different ways to access contracts - and we need to be clear.
On my phone, the contact lag is gone when you use the green Phone app to go to the contacts.
However, there is a 1-2 second delay if you tap on the brown Contacts app between when it displays the "All Contacts" and when you can scroll it.
Can you try that and see if this occurs on your 2.1 ?
Do you all agree 2.1 is faster and more stable? Jeeze I have all 5 bars now and I use to have 4!
I have a similar thing, when I first go into the App it is white for a second then I can scroll immediately when it appears. However when I re-enter the App it appears it has 'cached' somehow but I'm still waiting the second or two I would have been with the white screen before I can scroll again. Still much faster.
Passcode Work-around FIXED in new update!!!!
I didn't see anyone else mention this, but the passcode work around bug has been fixed with the update.
When I double tap the Home button from the Emergency Call screen, the iPhone returns to the Passcode screen and not my favorites.

This update has been a nightmare for me so far.
The initial backup took about an hour, and then crashed about 90% of the way through. So, I did a restore instead of a straight install (which includes the backup again) and that failed because it tried to restore the failed backup. So, I did another restore using an older backup (which is much too old because Apple shipped a buggy backup system that I never had enough time to complete when I needed to sync my phone).
Now...I'm still not done as it reloads all my info and I'm about 3 hours into this process.
I'm confident Apple understood they hadn't completed the backup process prior to shipping the last version of this software, and I think that is negligent on their part. Here's hoping that once I get through this last round I'll have a better experience.

Address book isn't syncing 100%...any ideas
If this happens, just turn the syncing off and then back on. It instantly fixes itself

Oh my god - I just had to come on here to say I LOOOOOOVVVEEEE 2.1!!!!
The only bummer is the Last.fm app no longer works. But that's a small price to pay for a rock-solid OS, no more crashes, no lags, smoother performance, and Genius playlists! And besides, the Last.fm app will surely get fixed soon (or 2.1.1 might be around the corner....)
