How do I know? There's a post at iPhoneYap.com that discusses all new 2.2 features + screenshots.

Check it out; direct link:

As the article states, these features are not all exposed in the UI:

MacRumors said:
Apple has apparently made underlying changes to the iPhone's frameworks that are not yet exposed to the end user.

Also, is iPhoneYap seriously so great? It's in your signature and that's the second time you've linked to it today.

With all these new minor changes being made(especially the stupid Safari bar redesign), It's really starting to bother me why Apple is being so damn stubborn with rolling out some of the features that nearly everyone has been complaining about.. It's been over a year since the original iPhone was introduced!

- Copy/Paste
- Native MMS
- Video recording
- A2DP Bluetooth
- Notes/ToDo synch
- Voice notes
- Official AT&T-approved tethering app
Well it seems everyone wants different features, y'all can't expect them to include every feature y'all want.

Seems to me everyone is asking for the same things?
Considering what the iphone is, none of these features seem infeasible or even hard to implement...

No.

Looks like they're the owner of the site.

The picture are really small and don't show anything you have seen. Only one of interest was this one.

I'm looking forward to street view. I figured this was coming since it was showing up in other phones

One of the biggest problems is that cut and paste would make not having MMS much easier. Typing that asanine username and password to get the picture is such a waste of time, but the ability to cut and paste it into the dialogue box would make things much more useful.

I still would like MMS because it is clearly not an archaic feature when ever other cellphone on the planet is able to do it. The problem with anything apple and the diehard supporters is that people get the mentality of "if apple doesn't provide it to us it really is not useful" (i know not all people think this way, but some come across like this). MMS is still INCREDIBLY useful and isn't old fashioned or anything in that nature. Apple was just trying to seperate itself by being "cutting edge" by allowing emailing of pictures as the only method to send anything.

This update has one good feature (granted that we are aware of), and the other things are gloss. I still have faith in Apple as I do really enjoy the phone, but basic issues are making it not as enjoyable to me. I think I may give Apple another 6-8 months and then get rid of the phone.

You know what's weird is I don't even get a text telling me someone sent an MMS. So I don't even know when someone tries to MMS me.

I don't get the notifications either. SMS is older than MMS yet it is still included. I think it's quite asinine to exclude this capability in favor of email when millions of people don't have email capable phones.

Also, if Apple wants to be considered a serious BB and WM alternative Cut&Paste is essential for users.

Actually most phones do send emails, it's just most people have no idea that they can send emails from their phone. You can also email to a phone like 5551234567@mms.att.net. But since this takes people on two ends to know what's going on it's not convenient at all.

The only ones I've ever received are from viewmymessage.com, why can't their server just just a link in the text message that you can click on that automatically logs in (maybe like messageid:password@viewmymessage.com)

Wow, that's pretty crazy. Well I guess you can consider yourselves lucky because trying to get a picture usually requires failing to type a username and password about 3 times before it works. If they even just gave each cell phone a universal name and password, things would be slightly easier. Not idea, but just easier.

Sorry, I posted my reply after yours, and that is what I suggested as well. Like I said, not ideal, but it is the best there is. The "viewmymessage" is their horrible text message service.

And I tried to send pics to my friends at their phone email but they reply and I never get it. It's horrible.

and, to:

Looks like they're the owner of the site.

I am an admin at iPhoneYap, not Owner.
The only reason it was made by a few of us who are iPhone Developers who had a vision for a no nonsense forum that is straight iPhone which is totally free with no advertisements.

It drove us nuts going page to page on other forums where the loadtime was killed by ads upon ads.

That's all.

So no, I'm not an owner. But I do volunteer time & money (for advertising the site since it's only 1-2 weeks old) for those of you who like iPhones like we do.:apple:

And as far as the pictures being to small, since we're a nice small community, we listen. I just had another admin double the size of any future uploads.

I doubt he'll be able to buy one at this time of night.

Of course, following that argument to its logical conclusion, the iPhone shouldn't do text messaging either...

Right!

Which is why I never understood anyone when they use that as an excuse as to why there is no MMS on the iPhone.

Only three things I want...

1. Flash support
2. portrait view text messaging
3. make apps crash less

come on apple, don't make me wait for the next version of the iPhone for this running firmware 3.5!

I hope they don't make me grab that sweet sexy HTC Touch HD running that virus Windows Mobile. I know number 4 won't happen anytime soon though, so I just hope that Windows Mobile 7 is smoother than WM6 which just sucks!

I'd rather it be like the iPhone's watered down OSX...

"Windows Mobile 7... Vista Mini without the bugs, and plays nice with everyone!"

Could be their moto.

true

it takes a lot of knowledge and tech skills ;) , but almost all mobile handsets since let's say 2000 do really have email capability.

God, Apple is so focused on shoveling crap down our throats that they forgot that this device is a phone first and everything else is secondary. They just need to fix the dropped calls problem and core "Phone" functionality first, then they should go ahead and add the gravy. If the next update doesn't fix the phone I'm done with this so-called phone.
