God, Apple is so focused on shoveling crap down our throats that they forgot that this device is a phone first and everything else is secondary. They just need to fix the dropped calls problem and core "Phone" functionality first, then they should go ahead and add the gravy. If the next update doesn't fix the phone I'm done with this so-called phone.

I find the 'phone' part works well. Never had a dropped call. After 2.1 the signal became much better, not that it was bad before. Those are my experiences.....

What's this issue about dropping calls? I don't think I've had one dropped myself.. at least, not by the phone that I know of!

Google street view is going to be huge, since the android has it, this will also help in the success

not to mention copy/paste, video recording and many other features which should already be implemented.

This is completely retarded. The iPhone/Safari lacks stability, it frequently crashes. The iPhone is becoming nothing more than a toy.

The priority shouldn't be navigation (as they call street view a navigation tool) for criminals searching your block, but basic elements like copy/cut and paste, voice dialing, video recording, and voice recording. Giving iPhone users the ability to look around at buildings and trees from random points around the country is far more important than the rest of the features we’re waiting for.

I can just see the new Blackberry with their touch screen just eat up Apple's share of the market when it comes out. And yes, it has copy and paste.

I've never lost a call on my iPhone either. Even in areas where I show zero bars...

I'm waiting for an update that will make the iPhone announce the name of the caller when you have headphones plugged in. I'd like to know who's calling before I answer when it's -10 out and my iPhone is buried under three layers of clothing.

I've never dropped a call either. I suspect that the dropping of calls is more to do with the network, how things are handled are controlled by the network, than the phone.

I find mobile Safari a bit of a lottery too. It crashes fairly often.

No you're mistaken. Safari is stable. You know why? Because Apple says so, so it must be true.

Not to be a nay-sayer but, my Safari hardly ever crashes. Then again, I don't have 8 tabs open always. I usually only have a maximum of 3. I noticed that Safari runs great unless you make it run out of memory. Try not to open too many tabs.

Yes, that's right, we're all too dim to think that maybe having more than a few tabs open may be a bit of a drain for it. No, not at all. I rarely have more than one open yet Safari crashes at least a couple of times a day for me, it's useless.

To say Safari is useless then one could infer it's better not to have the browser, which we all know is not the case. Still, like with the majority, I only have one or two tabs open and it crashes at least once a day. I guess that's stable to some people and Steven Jobs too. ;)

That's just weird because it doesn't really crash for me. I've seen it crash only once since 2.1, but hey that's just me.

On a side note... one time I imported all my bookmarks from my desktop Safari on accident and MobileSafari was very unstable after that. Maybe you have a lot of bookmarks?

I am surprised so few people in this thread are disturbed by the lack of true voice dialing. True voice dialing, for me, would be an iPhone that would wake up when I press the button on my bluetooth headset, listen for my voice to say "call xxxx home," repeat my command (or not, depending on my preference), and then dial the number.

The lack of this one feature has turned my phone into a lovely toy, for which I pay way too much per month.

I read through the whole thread with the hope of getting a sense of when, or if, people thought true voice dialing would come to the iPhone. Are you all content with iSpeak, and all the other voice app attempts? I've tried each one, with extensive testing, and none really work, not even iSpeak through the attached headset. :(

Not only does it crash (closes and you are returned to the home screen) but apps crash as well STILL. One day I had to open AIM three times before I could actually use it. This is why I went out and bought a BlackBerry a month ago. I keep the iPhone at home now as a toy.

I'm sorry that your Apps crash too much, but mine don't. I'm pretty happy with version 2.1.
