Yo, got the spaces, too
Has anyone else noticed this? It's a nice feature that makes the iPhone all the more consistent with OS X.
I am not sure how long this has been included, as I have just noticed this and never heard of it before.
Anyone heard of this?
In a text message conversation there is a SECRET way to scroll all the way to the top of the conversation easily and was faster than flicking your finger to scroll it.
Place and hold your finger on the "time", up at the top of the screen in the middle. and it will quickly zoom up to the top of the conversation to load earlier messages.
NEW for 2.2??!!??
I think this is a new feature in the iPhone 2.2 software that nobody has come across of and I think it could be useful. It is a new behavior of the keyboard and I cant really explain it so here is a video on how it works and what it is.

Hello All.
I was happy to see they inproved a lot of things. One thing I can't figure it out is the alert on the txt message. I know on 2.1 we only seen "New Text Message" ...
Now with the upgrade to 2.2 it shows the person that is txt you. Is there a way to turn this off and go back to the image below?

Other thing also my ringer sound is gone... Nothing I can't hear anything now. I tried to call myself from work nothing. Is anyone having this issue now also.
I knew that holding the letter down will bring up new characters and its been there since 1.x but moving your finger across the screen and then the extra characters coming up is new. And after adding more languages you get the country URL. Like UK=.co.uk and Romania =.roSliding your finger around might be new. I simply hadn't tried that before. However, the holding your finger down on a letter and having foreign language options pop up is not new. The same thing happens when you press and hold on .com, you get .edu, .org, and .net.

We don't take kindly to people makin' sense around here! Stop it!The simple fact of the matter is that Copy and Paste are a huge effort relative to doing bug fixes. As to street view well that is no where as difficult as an API that impacts each and every app on the device.
As to the poster you are commenting on, he is right if people truely think that copy and paste is all that easy then they should implement it themselves. They would certainly learn something.
Also you are looking a bit in informed here because I have not seen one advertisement yet that indicates that copy and paste was part of the iPhone software suite. To sit here in this forum and imply it is missing just does not reflect well on you as a person. It has never been part of IPhone it is as simple as that. Should it be, well that is a different question but whining about it isn't going to change priorities at Apple. The simple fact is they have more important fish to fry.
Look at it this way Apple has many things that need to be ironed out on iPhone. I for one would love to see them flesh out the BlueTooth stack. It's limited nature right now has a serious impact on what one can do with apps on iPhone. Do I whine excessively, like a child, because BluTooth is a little thin? Nope, instead I work with what I got and go from there. Successfully implementing tech isn't just an issue of one side delivering one be all end all product, mainly because that never happens, it is also about getting the user to accept new tech. Every piece of software, that a user comes into contact with needs a bit of effort from that user to be successful. No effort equals no benefit.
In any event this whole copy and paste thing is way overblown. This from somebody that wouldn't object to having it at all. It simply isn't a show stopper like some things( for instance Safari that was crash-a-matic ). With the overall improvement in iPhone operation I really don't understand the negativity with respect to this release.
Dude. The iPhone had this BEFORE Mac OS X.Has anyone else noticed this? It's a nice feature that makes the iPhone all the more consistent with OS X.

I JUST was looking through all the Cydia apps and settings wondering how I disabled the persons name last time. After giving up, I now know that it must not have been me. I also want only the "New Text Message" to display, and not the persons name. Much more private that way. With Pysl you can turn off the display completely, which i might end up doing, because with Notifier or Status Notifier you can still have the status bar display and vibration reminder.

Not sure if it's already been covered, but the artist name is now listed under the album name in the iPod app.
Chundles said:We all know the feature is there but after a few days of use I must say that podcast downloads on an iPhone/iPod touch is fooly sik.
I love it.
