Why did I rate this story negative?
Because the bloody iPhone is the nail in the coffin of my beloved Mac experience.
Because of the iPhone Apple Inc. was born and Apple COMPUTER Inc. was brought to the grave.
And the main reason is, because the iPhone crowd, that gathered here over the years, has made this place a very hostile and fanboyish environment. See the quoted messages below to know what I mean.

If you dont like it dont read it. If you dont like mac then leave the forums and dont come back. why would you rate it negative if you know you dont like the iPhone. The is just stupid. I mean that would be like me going online looking for a windows site and voting negative on everything a waste of time and stupid.
Get over it.
While I appreciate your perspective, I have personally read more comments from individuals who do not generally like Apple but joined online Apple related sites/blogs due to the iPhone. In fact, I have read more comments from individuals who rudely criticize Apple and bait people into unnecessary discourse.
Thanx for proving my point with a new post that leaves the impression of ignorance and hatred.
I love my Apple computers since nearly 10 years. I was welcome in a friendly and open community in that time. Good old ThinkSecret or Spymac were main news sources back then, but Macrumors was always a place with helpful hints. Hey, I needn't create a user account for several years, as a quick forum search was fully sufficient if I had questions about special Mac troubleshooting.
And I hate, that there are fewer balanced and informed discussions over here ever since iPhone developed wannabe-Mac-experts into fanboyish beasts.
And special explanation to you: I was curious to see, what new finds were in beta 3.0, as I'm in the market for a new phone. So I started reading this thread. But as the "iPhone roxorzzzzzz and all others are PWNed" started emerging, I found this thread to be little helpful for me - and therefore negative.
I want the 3.0 software now!
Percentage has been included since at least 2.2.1, I use it all the time since the bar is so useless. Just press the battery bar and it comes up.
Holy crap. I posted about the Safari window thing in the 100 New Features thread and nobody cared. Now all of a sudden it's some wild hidden feature? There's a TON of little features in 3.0... geeze.
My point is that you are negative due to the people who are dumb and insult you. But the info on the main site is a accurate comment and post. So you are not negative due to the info but due to what people say to you. This is a tough world you need to have a thicker skin. It is called hazing. anytime you are new to something it happens. people think they know more than you and try to cut you down. I don't do it and i don't think it is right but it happens.

Yes.Is this a j/b feature? I have yet to see this on a regular iPhone...
I do not agree with this statement at all. It is no secret that the anonymity of the internet has perpetuated increased indecency and disrespect amongst peer to peer conversation and discourse (most psychologists will agree on that statement). Human decency and respect have taken a backseat to increased hostility, uncontrolled aggression and misguided anger (perhaps as a counter mechanism to daily negative peer to peer/co-worker interaction). Common courtesy and consideration [most] humans learn as juveniles is rapidly lost and behavior that is not normally exhibited towards others dominates internet communication. Behaviors towards others not exhibited and/or condoned in public are blithely accepted in the online "culture". Reckless disregard for others has recently manifested itself through the increased number of teenage suicides attributed to the indecency from those who utilize the internet to further antagonize their peers(s).
Stating that "hazing" is a [accepted] form of internet communication and the general internet community requires "thicker skin" for "survival" demonstrates an inherit desire in dominating others. Online communication is rapidly becoming the premier form of communication in social and industrial related human activity. As such universally accepted respect and courtesy in peer to peer dialog is greatly lacking.
If you wouldn't state something written to another individuals face, don't state it at all.
