A Message For Arn

Arn, look at the italian site iSpazio. They were first to notice that link. Look! ;)
P.S. I can't write the link 'cause im from my iPhone 3G not S.

Maybe I missed an update, but that image clearly says stereo bluetooth with the iPod Touch. When did that happen!??

Bluetooth on iPod touch

dasikes I noticed that too. Bluetooth on the iPod touch? That either seems like a blatant mistake (copy and paste from iPhone features), or very significant!

iPod touch upgrade pricing.

We already know this. The question is whether new iPod Touch purchased on or after the 17th will come preloaded with 3.0 or as a free upgrade. I asked this in the iPod Touch forum but people seem divided on this, with some saying we'll most definitely pay for the upgrade even for new iPod Touch bought on or after the 17th, some claiming it should come with 3.0 if purchased directly from Apple.com, and yet others saying they'll give a $10 discount so you can apply it towards the update.

I'm retty sure that all ipod touches will have to pay for the upgrade until a new one comes along (with 3.0). Nonetheless Apple might offer a discount to upgrade for old ipods whenever they anounce the new ones. What you can be sure of is that the new ones are already in the pipeline waiting for all 2G to be cleared from inventories.

I'll be upgrading to 3.0 just as i did to 2.0 and for only $20 i have the latest ipod touch software, no biggie!

:)

I'm thinking that more than likely that is the case, but who knows... there was a lot of hubbub last year about there being a bluetooth chip for Nike+ within the 2nd Gen Touch. Maybe it contained more power than we realized.

that's not a mistake. though it is only for 2g iPod Touch. the Nike+ is actually a bluetooth chip, Apple is just enabling it for other stuff with 3.0. the peer to peer gaming is also only for 2g iPod Touch because it works over bluetooth.

Wait, What? So does that mean if I have a iPod 2G and buy a Nike+ I get stereo bluetooth audio? I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned anywhere else.

you don't have to buy Nike+. it's built into the 2g. all you have to do is upgrade to 3.0 and you'll have it. CLICK HERE to see some images of it in action.

Well the last big update last year, they released the update via a website so we can get it early, we might be able to do the same sometime tonight....

Bluetooth on iPod Touch

I've got the Jaybird bluetooth headset and use it w/ the iPod touch via an adapter. Now won't have to use the adapter. That's the biggest plus on the iPod touch for me. Worth the $10 upgrade just for that. Plus the other stuff...

Have the 3GS on order so will be tech'd out for a while with both.

Just curious. Would iTunes alert you about a new update if your device is docked in? Or do we keep hitting the 'Check for Update' button?

it will only check for updates when you first plug it in or when you click check for updates. so if you're keeping it docked, you have to keep click check for updates
