iPhone 3.0 Update for iPod Touch Page Appears in iTunes, Not Yet Functional

SO JUST BECAUSE APPLE IS IN CALI, DOES IT ACTUALLY MEAN ITS GOING TO BE RELEASED IN THE STATES FIRST???
Of course, now that we are waiting for the 17th of June to happen in the US the whole world and their dog will be downloading the new 3.0 software at the same time and the whole system will crash. Why not actually release it on the 17th for each country and have a softer ramp of downloads for the servers?

I can't wait for the 3.0 release. I wonder if it will be released shortly after midnight, or if it will be released later in the day. Anyone know?
If they did 'flip a switch' at midnight it would make the 17th, only ~19 hours ahead - 7pm would be a real nice time to get it, give me the evening to play
. Even nicer would have been to have it like the iPhone 3G launch, where we bought ours at midnight on 11th July here, a long time before in the US.

I think the bigger deal, (which I haven't even seen referred to yet) is that the iPod touch DOES in fact have a fully capable bluetooth radio - as evidenced by the caption under the P2P gaming and Stereo Bluetooth headset icons.
I remember when it launched last year and iFixit or someone did the teardown they alluded to it having a full on BT radio while Apple dismissed it as nothing more than something to make the Nike+ system work.
Now we know.

The iPod Touch 2G has it, but the original iPod Touch doesn't.
Bluetooth was disabled in the iPod Touch except for the Nike+ (I think that used the bluetooth chip--correct me if i'm wrong)

But at least they say "pay or die" and don't invent some financial voodoo reason to justify that they want money.
The developer Gold Master release is on Bit Torrent. That should be what is released through iTunes. But, if you have an iPod Touch, wait and buy the update. Downloading and installing now through a torrent or other means other than iTunes would (i believe) be illegal because its a paid upgrade.
Its almost 9:00 PM here on the east coast and still no update on iTunes. I guess it will be a while longer. If you are waiting for the update, go to sleep, be refreshed and download it in the morning when it hopefully will come out.
