I wonder if at the factory they are supposed to test the camera function on the iphone.... and if so they forgot to erase it?

Aside from that, at the very least their initial thought would be... "I'll be more famous then lonelygirl15 from youtube on the macrumors site with this photo..."

this is why my iPhone has light leak, is raised in one corner, has dead pixels, scratches on the back, cracks in the corners and a yellow screen.

stop p*ssing about and do some work.

If you feel that way then I'm glad you received a faulty iPhone. These people well deserve the ability to be human once in a while.

i think you got the wrong end of the stick there mate. good luck with that sense of humour

I would be delighted to receive a picture like this on my phone or camera or other device when I purchased it. "Untouched By Human Hands" is a falicy when it comes to a device like this, and I think it's no different than "Inspected by" tags in clothing, albeit giving a much more personal and human face to the QA team.

Companies making imaging devices are missing out by not doing this as a matter of course.

Hi

Hi,

Not sure if this is or is not the 'norm' but I just received my brand new iPhone here in the UK and once it had been activated on iTunes I found that the home screen (the screen you can personalise with a photo) already had a photo set against it !!!!

It would appear that someone on the production line was having a bit of fun - has anyone else found this ?

These are the photo's:

I hope she doesn't be fired for appearing on the photos I don't think she should be blamed for that. By the way, she is very cute...I wonder if we could find out her name. They should promote her to be the company's campaign girl. Thank you for your attention.

i would return my phone and get a new one. i would want to be the first one to play with my phone, not someone else. and even if they did at least delete the picture so i dont know.

What makes you think you were the first person to "play" with the iPhone you have now? I guarantee you probably weren't.

I'd much rather have an iPhone I know went through some sort of QA testing.

phones are QA tested anyway.

and if it has a problem you can just get a new one anyway.

and just because it was tested doesnt mean a problem wont come up in the future.

I figured out what the line in the background is making!!!

They are making the Iphones Knock offs that are so popular in china.:mad::mad: Why cant china be moral for once?

Did you know that in its infancy the US blatantly ripped off inventions from Europe? The US patent office only recognized American inventors so many Americans just picked a useful product readily available overseas and claimed the rights to it in the US. Information has ALWAYS flowed from places of wealth to relative poverty.

I'm assuming that you're American. Speaking re the issue of morality, you know that US has overthrown democratically elected governments in Central America and Africa. You know about the Gulf of Tonkin incident that precipitated the Vietnam War. You know that the crew of Vincennes got commendations for shooting down Iranian airliner Flight 655 after their commanding officer defied his orders to stay on station and violated Iranian waters.

America is a great country and has done more than any other to advance the ideas of justice and freedom but it clearly pursues its international interests with political realism, not idealism. Let's not bring the issue of morality into it. Countries and corporations generally pursue amoral aims with the aim of securing benefits for its stakeholders.

"I'd like to return my iPhone because it's not a virgin. Someone else has already touched it."

nope op is from the UK, I was saying where I am from ( America) we have a great thing called free speech. that is all I was saying

Really, Americans are really warped about what free speech is........lemme see patriot act.......warrantless wiretapping.......sounds more like Big Brother to me working his strings in the background. Americans really need to go back to their roots and take back their rights........ The small percentage of Americans that actually vote are really messing things up.

lol I dont even like asian girls and she is kinda cute!

At least its not the sweatshop I had imagined it to be.

I'm sure they test most all the iPhones and maybe forgot to delete for you? or left you a little treat haha.

Why would you not like "Asian" girls??? Girls are girls...people are people!!! What the hell are you, besides a racist!?! She IS cute, but she's also probably a minor! And you're a FREAK OF NATURE!

Gentlemen (using term loosely)...

This is not a political forum
This is not a American bashing forum
This is not a British bashing forum
Bush does suck however, and I do vote and have fought for freedom
This is not a human rights China forum

This is an APPLE/MAC/IPHONE/IPOD/FUN-STUFF forum

Please continue, like gentlemen.

It's not racism; it's recognizing distinguishable differences. We're simply talking about visual appearance and nothing else so I'm sure people have preferences in that superficial realm. Plus, I don't want people to equate me to everyone else and thus strip me of all of my individual characteristics.

(this may have already been said…) notice how the computers are running the windows version of iTunes and using USB. Apple programming iTunes for windows and ditching Firewire all makes sense it terms of factory costs.

Actually, if you look closer there are Mac Mini's on their sides for the QA process and a PC for the assembly line process.

Great Idea - every employee should do it

Like Austin Martin or Rolls Royce, it would be actually a nice touch if every employee had his or her picture taken with iphone he or she had just assembled, so when you get your phone, you can put the picture to the face, and you know who did your iphone. I hope mine was assembled by some cute Chinese chick :)

I like different approach.
Apple should toss the idea around. Sometimes the best ideas are created from mistakes or random events like this one.
Unfortunately, she was probably executed for being in the picture. No harm done over taking a picture(unauthorized), but I’m betting this thread & pictures were forwarded to the factory.

Executed? That's absolutely moronic to even consider as a possibility.
Forwarded to the factory? Right. As if anyone gives a flip.
