i am a man from china and shenzhen city form which the iphone made.
the girl was a QC in FSK and was fired with her colleage and her leader.
her chinese name is Li
i think all the iphone user should help this girl ....
I think you people in China (not that I trust you're telling the truth) should help yourselves and fight for better rights and quit letting your government walk all over you.
Just 3 questions:
1. 8 hours times 5 days is 40 hours, how can be "evey week can not work over 30 hours in total"?
2. I just checked the exchange rate of USD to CNY, 1USD=6.84 RMB. So their salary caculated in USD is less.
3. Suppose they can get 1,800 if they work overtime, after the basic slary RMB1,000. they can get 800 for overtime work. 1 hour over time price is 8, so they need work for 100 hours more per month for the extra 800, which means they need to work 25 hours more weekly. right?
1. Sorry for my typing mistake, it should be"evey week can not work over 40 hours in total", on the other hand, the goverment also claim that if factory really need overtime work for the production, one day can not over 3 hours. to tell the truth the workers hope to do overtime work, they want to get more money, because after the off duty time they have nothing to do but stay in the dorm, and if the overtime work is in the weekend payment will be 3 times to normally time. actually now the factory get ambivalent feeling for the overtime work, they need it for the production, but if one worker give a call to the goverment they must pay high penalty.
2. for the exchange rate I don't care, because all I told is RMB as you can see.
3. the salary RMB1800 is not all from overtime work, as I said besides the basic RMB1000, they have some allowance, for lodging is around RMB200-300 and for meal is around RMB100-200, even they live in the dorm and eat in the refectory, they have to pay for the eletricity and water fee and also need pay for the food.
For you reference, several years ago many many people from inner mainland come to Shenzhen to be a worker in the factory, because on that time, inner part is really poor, but now all are changed, workers are choose back home to build up their hometown, because more and more factory move to the inner part, even Foxconn will leave ShenZhen soon, becasue ShenZhen is close to HongKong, HongKong people prefer to buy a house in ShenZhen not in HongKong, becasue from ShenZhen to HongKong only took 1 hour by train, and the house price in HongKong is sixfold to ShenZhen, so the living cost is much higher in ShenZhen, and the employee turnover rate is getting higher, in Pearl River Delta Region( include ShenZhen ) thousands shoes factory go bankrupt, do you know why? because of the new labor law appeared.
Do you have any more question? pleasure to give you answer.
i hope the thread starter is happy now, knowing he got 3 people fired.

the girl has been fired.
"She is definitely not fired," an unidentified representative from Foxconn's factory in Shenzhen, southern China, told the newspaper Xiandai Kuaibao.
The factory assembles most of Apple's iPhones and iPods, the newspaper says.
The representative confirmed that the "iPhone girl" was one of its employees but declined to give details.
He said it was likely that the test photos were left in the phone's memory "accidentally." The company is investigating the incident.
