it's the simplest thing that goes to our heart

i'm quite amazed on how this thing attract my attention (and some million others too). i keep wondering what is so special about this thing that make me read 20 pages of thread with over 500 responds in addition to over 250 news it generated around the world. It was just a simple, genuine, innocent, unpretentious, unartificial and sweet smile from one unknown factory worker in china. it did not even show any of her curves. yet here i am, so absorbed on this uneventful thing.

so much happening around us we may just don't realize that deep inside, our heart longing for a simple, genuine, innocent, unpretentious, unartificial and sweet thing. so guys, when you go home, savor the moment to look at your children's smile. for those who don't have children, just observed the natural beauty, flower for example. it will heal half of the world sickness.

for the marketing guys these are elements to consider to attract people in your advertisement (as if u don't know about this). and for the iphone girl, good luck in your future adventure and thanks for showing us the simplest thing in life.

No time to read till the last page to see if this mystery has already been solved, but I insist that these pics are fake, we should not assume because we see an Asian girl that this has to be some Chinese/Taiwanese/Korean factory..people go to great lengths for some media/internet attention, so my bet it, this girl lives somewhere in London and this is again proof of how we believe things just because they appear on the internet and in the news.

these are not iphone pics, way to high res. second they would have to put the assembly line to a stop in order to take three or more pics...hell it would not go unnoticed!!!;)

Anyone else think "iPhone Girl" kinda looks like Michelle Kwan?

I'm donating a minute of my time in the hopes of educating you idiots: [1] Chinese factories are modern facilities, not "sweatshops". Get a life and read up or visit China before you start a stupid rmor [2] kiko is Japanese; this is a Chinese factory, [3] nobody cares if you "don't like asian girls, but this one is cute" and that is the most assinine, self-contradicting remark I've ever read, [4] posing for a photo would be as much grounds for termination as taking a photo (assuming it is against company policy to use a camera phone to take a photo), so I wouldn't suggest the maker of that comment be a lawyer anytime soon, [5] many of you can't spell or think straight - e.g., "photo's", [6] many of you will discard this post as an angry, cynical outburst, but the more intelligent reader will recognize it as simple truthful interpretation. Good luck to those with half a brain.

Although I had to laugh at some of the assumptions and remarks of most of the posts, I do totally agree with you on points 1,3,4, and 6....but don't forget it has not much to do with intelligence, this forum does not have an age limit; consequently you will have lame remarks, bad spelling (although there's a spell check) and so on.

to each it's own.

I have two halves of brain.... :D

iphone girl

Hi Mark! Do you still have the original pics on your iphone?

Will you please post the original filenames and EXIF information from them?

That would be very helpful,

Thanks!:)

Yellow stripes

I wonder what is that yellow stripe on the front panel of that table. It can only be seen on two pics and yet not the same. Those pictures have been modified. Wonder why????

If you take a closer look, the yellow stripes are not on the front of the table. Rather, they are on a moving table top in front of iPhone Girl's work station. In photos #2 & #3, the yellow stripe, most likely to separate one product assembly from another, moves to the left of the photo. The table top in the foreground is moving to the left. And MAN! do I need to get a life!

Now on Yahoo.....

I would have never known about this had this had not been posted in the pages of yahoo.com

The question is, will she come forth and identify herself!?

:apple:

I can't believe the lack of scepticism in this forum and among the media.

This whole story looks like a dumb P.R. stunt that reporters on a slow news day are more than happy to run with without any verification. Who is the Mark in the U.K.? Who is the Shenzhen model?

I mean the whole thing is just way too contrived.

Isn't it great that she's wearing a cool little pink suit and waving a peace sign and has perfect teeth and complexion. Oh yes, if you haven't read the new wires she has been shaken by the whole ordeal and prefers to remain anoynmous. Yeah, right.

I hate to break it to everyone, but you have been had.

Finally, someone who is actually thinking. Someone comes on here, posts some pics with a story and you just believe it to be true? I would think by now people would not be fooled anymore.

Simplicity and sweet innocence... that's the striking point of iphone girl. And it strikes me. Yet, skeptics linger everywhere. These are the people who are always suspicious. I doubt if they ever live peacefully and harmoniously on the face of this world with this kind of attitude. I still believe skepticism should be placed on its proper perspective. Skeptics are sometimes too brainy yet brainless at other times... :D

too young

anyone else see how young she is!! Aren't Americans great; we don't care if we get a cool product as long as we don't have to think about the people who make them.

age

She looks about 12/13 to me! I don't think Stevo is going to be impressed at all... It looks a little bit too much like child labour.

May be she is 20 .you must know ,In china some grils are looked younger that her age .
Not like other westcountry.we all know NBA super star ,like as LeBron James 23 year,Chris Bosh 24,Greg Oden 20, I think chinese people nobady believe
them.

they look like 30 or 40 age.

Kiko

She might get fired but I bet we have not seen the last of her. Who wants to bet in a month or so she will be on The Tonight Show, or some other show.

Ive been reading this entire forum and everybodys post since....8:30 central time. What i have noticed besides the almost instantaneous buzz about "Kiko" or "iPhoneGirl" is that allit shows is how we are really just looking at how, instead of seeing the stereotypical sweatshop, we are seeing a somewhat happy employee working in a modern factory.

But after about...page 16, it switches to the stereotypes of china and america/europe, So, im just curious, what are your views on the other country?
Personally, i hold no grudge towards china, for there is no reason to hold a grudge (well, besides nothing economical).

But this is the first time i have actually heard comments from the Chinese. I may be just a scrub at macrumors but heck, all things start in small places. Now, if anyone couldpost a forum that could show some international conversations (as long as it obeys each countrysrespectful Freedom of Speech laws) I would like to speak to some.

As for the iphonegirl, please leave her alone, she is going through the shock of becoming an internet start OVERNIGHT. She needs time to recuperate and calm down about this fiasco. If anything, you should not be looking for the girljust by herself, but for the photographer. I think ive posted my jorgon of rambles.

If anyone uses Y!Messenger, yes, i will be available after 1:00 central.which is about, 3 hours from now.

BTW: has she posted on here yet? oris she still in shock?

How could anyone NOT believe THAT face?! "I for one believe her". :)

Attention, this is Chinese goverment announcement:

The cute girl will be promoted to vice-Premier for her lovely smile, an even better ad than Beijing olympics. The guy who owned foxconn will be fired, and excuted for his poor payment to his lovely staffs.

BTW, chinese goverment will consider forcing the girl to change her name to kilo.:D ...from shanghai

No, let her keep her name please! :(

And dont execute the guy, jeez! he didnt know what he was doing at first, and he now stumbled onto a big business activity :)
