Pathetic

To have supposedly grown young men getting so worked up over a photo of a little girl in a factory is beyond pathetic. Only in Yahoo news and on the internet can such lame ass activity go on. People need to get lives but more importantly get dates so if they get something like this they dont freak out. Good God. This is a 9.5 on the get a life scale. China is still a very messed up country.

And please; get out more so you wont lose your mind whenever you see a cute girl.

so what happened to that yellow line?? its in the first two pictures but not the last one and the angle of the picture did change very much...? so what happened to it?

stop explaining your life problems and visions about yourself.^ You just had the urge to write that rant and try to sound better and from a point of betterment. HAh

Why do you think they have PC's?

Apple is just marketing people. The people working on the iPhone or Mac probably also work on the Zune and PC. Mac is just an expensive PC.

Shows a clean and friendly working condition in China even though she's probably making $2/day and is 15 years old. Rumor has it, she was in the 2004 Olympics as a gymnast - but is too old now to perform.

She would have been good as the Milli Vanilli of the Opening ceremonies.

I wonder if she knows she is this popular? Maybe someone will locate her and rescue her from China...

she is cute and with pleasure in work in china ,she is very well .

for the new individuals here, welcome. if you haven't read through the entire thread, the girl was not fired according to Foxconn representatives.

A few more updates from other news sources:

"She is definitely not fired," an unidentified representative from Foxconn's factory in Shenzhen, southern China, told the newspaper Xiandai Kuaibao.

Liu said the factory worker was unsettled by the sudden fame after her photo appeared on websites and newspapers, and that her bosses had assured her that her job is safe. He said the company would not release her name or any details.

"Even passers-by recognise her face and can't help noticing her," Liu said. "She is quite nervous right now because she never experienced this much attention."

The photo was taken in the testing department as part of normal procedure and no rules were broken, Liu said.

He said Apple was very understanding and that the Taiwan-based manufacturer was working with the computer giant to prevent similar incidents from reoccurring.

"She is an assembly worker in the mobile phone testing department and she is still working there. But she has requested us not to make her name public and we will respect her decision," Liu Kun, Foxconn Technology Group spokesman, said. He, however, told China Daily that the girl was a native of Hunan province.

Her photograph appeared on the iPhone screen because of "a small mistake during our working process but the outcome has not been negative". On the contrary, "her lovely face has become popular on the Internet and we would rather call it a beautiful mistake", Liu said.

Buzz

Hi,

it is like a good impression to the factory, they are really doing some testing on the production line before shiiping.. 100% satisfaction to customer. but the worst is they forgot to delete the picture.. its a kind of poor out going inspection. maybe they need to enhance their capability in inspection to avoid repetition of this issue..

this is a kind of lesson learned to the group..

::confused:

She's an absolute doll!

With such a genuine smile. I'd be pretty upset if they took action against her. It's actually nice to see something real for a change, with real people doing real things in this world. There's nothing real about any commercial, or any promotional photo that I have ever seen. This one would totally sell me on their product! Good for her!!! She should be compensated for such a pretty smile.

YouTube video is not her

The young lady in the Shinzhen singing video is NOT the iPhone girl. The iPhone girl has a round face, darker complexion, and a flat nose. The singing girl in the video has a thin face, more Western-type nose, and has lighter complexion.

How anyone can get those two confused is beyond me.

That said, I'd like to see the iPhone girl get an ad campaign. Good on ya, girl. Best of luck.

It might just allow her to visit the rest of the world.

Learn passable English, do some TV commercials, become new spokesface for Apple (like Jared is for Subway Sandwiches), make a million dollars. Live happy life.

Personally I can't stand Jared. I think Subway should hire iPhone girl too ; )

Hi,

Not sure if this is or is not the 'norm' but I just received my brand new iPhone here in the UK and once it had been activated on iTunes I found that the home screen (the screen you can personalise with a photo) already had a photo set against it !!!!

It would appear that someone on the production line was having a bit of fun - has anyone else found this ?

These are the photo's:

She kinna cute...

truthful comments for the intelligent readers, if any

I'm donating a minute of my time in the hopes of educating you idiots: [1] Chinese factories are modern facilities, not "sweatshops". Get a life and read up or visit China before you start a stupid rumor [2] kiko is Japanese; this is a Chinese factory, [3] nobody cares if you "don't like asian girls, but this one is cute" and that is the most assinine, self-contradicting remark I've ever read, [4] posing for a photo would be as much grounds for termination as taking a photo (assuming it is against company policy to use a camera phone to take a photo), so I wouldn't suggest the maker of that comment be a lawyer anytime soon, [5] many of you can't spell or think straight - e.g., "photo's", [6] many of you will discard this post as an angry, cynical outburst, but the more intelligent reader will recognize it as simple truthful interpretation. Good luck to those with half a brain.

She looks as if she is 10, a hot ten year old at that

There is no such thing as a "hot" 10 year old! Maybe I'm taking it the wrong way, and you are not as sick as I think you are!

I'm a guy, I'm not gay, I LOVE "Women" and not little girls! They are not "Hot"!!!

This is great. She seems so cheerful, I'm sure Apple and all will realize the potential this creates for a positive spin on the company. Workers happy= customers happy :)

A true capitalist. Haha

Yeah, and put some of the profit into a fund for iphone girl... and set up an account where we can all contribute, preferably on Paypal or something, and make sure a way is found for only her to access it. This could turn out very nicely, because so many have expressed empathy and concern... why not?
