I think Steve will call the new iMac if there is one the MacGruber Pro.
He didn't get a breast reduction...

$99 3GS 16 gb
$199 HD 32 gb
$229 HD 32 gb (without seams)
$249 HD 32 gb (without seams , without screws)
$299 HD 64 gb (with seams , without screws)
$349 HD 64 gb (without seams , without screws)
:)

You are totally wrong dude.
The leaked iphone pics have shown 16 gb, so a 16 gb iphone HD/4G is 100% coming.

tee hee, i see your point
so i'll revise my original forecast:

$99 3GS 16 gb (new updated model, same as previous 3GS, but now with added seams)
$229 HD 32 gb (basic model - no seams)
$230 HD 32 gb (one seam, one screw)
$249 HD 32 gb (two seams, two screws)

do we agree, mr Baadshah? or do you still think i'm totally wrong?

So I am coming off as stupid by replying to a quote from a movie, with a quote from the same movie? I know it is more then a little off topic, but I would hardly call it stupid.

On topic... I hope that they price the 32GB at $199. My birthday is in june, and it would be a great gift for myself. :)

Buddy, my response was a quote from the SAME MOVIE. Same scene.

I'm assuming he has insurance. Interesting as my 3g is really playing up and I suspect water has got in from bathing the kids. If it packs up I'm nit sure I can live without an iPhone until the new one comes out!!!

Same here. My 3G thinks the headphones are plugged in half the time. It's heat related and getting worse ever week. I literally cannot wait until this release.

I think you're close, but I'm going to chime in with my predictions:

$99 - 16GB 3GS Plain
$149 - 16GB 3GS Plain Ultra Plus
$199 - 32GB 4G Basic
$198.92 - 32GB 4G Wal-Mart Edition
$299 - 64GB 4G Cool Ranch
$399 - 1.1TB 4GS Ultra Ribbed for Her Pleasure
$599 - 512MB 4G Limited Collector Edition ("ROKR Throwback")

$99 16GB 3GS
$199 16GB iPhone HD
$299 32GB iPhone HD

Watch it happen. No 64GB iPhone HD, as the iPad needs to be bought!

I fully hope people have to start paying for what these phones are worth and not just the price they would like them to be.

Gee, I wonder what Steve is going to announce...

It definitely can't be the next iPhone.

Also, I love the repsonse you'll get from AT&T's employees:

"Now, remember, the next iPhone might not happen. It's just a rumor. Don't get your hopes up." (That is the response I got after asking about upgrading to the iPhone 4.)

I cannot believe they have been selling the 3G this long. I figured 6 months into the 3GS release, the 3G would disappear except for refurbs. Perhaps Apple was testing the $99 8GB 3G market? Only they know the breakdown.

I guess if there is a $99 3GS after June 7, we'll know if Apple thinks it's a worthwhile market (I think it is).

While $99 vs. $299 is not much compared to the total cost of ownership over 2 years, some people won't spend $299 for a phone regardless of the cost of ownership.

Is there pocket lint in the headphone jack?

Apple won't sell the the 3GS alongside the new model. They're too dissimilar in design. That would be like continuing to sell 2007's MBPs alongside the unibody models.

Do you know what these phones are worth? Does anybody really know what they're worth? Here are some guidelines, let us know when you've worked the true value of the iPhone. Thanks in advance!

In the words of Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations, Book 1 (1776)

The word 'value', it is to be observed, has two different meanings, and sometimes expresses the utility of some particular object, and sometimes the power of purchasing other goods which the possession of that object conveys. The one may be called 'value in use ;' the other, 'value in exchange.' The things which have the greatest value in use have frequently little or no value in exchange; and on the contrary, those which have the greatest value in exchange have frequently little or no value in use. Nothing is more useful than water: but it will purchase scarce any thing; scarce any thing can be had in exchange for it. A diamond, on the contrary, has scarce any value in use; but a very great quantity of other goods may frequently be had in exchange for it.

You miss the point and decide to copy and paste a random quote?

It makes sense to completely ditch the 3GS for a number of reasons:

It uses a different case, screen (probably), processor and battery
It would require a dedicated production line and as less would be made, Apple would get a bulk discount on parts
There was a bit of an outcry when it was revealed the 3G wouldn't get a lot of 4.0 features - so a phone you buy today (if you can find one) is effectively written off a week or so later. The same thing will likely happen with the 3GS next year and I'm sure Apple don't need the bad press/word of mouth.

I'd simply use the extra 3GS stocks as warranty refurbs and simply have one model/production line.

so you're still working out the true value of an iPhone? good, keep up the good work! :)

PS when considering "value" and "price" you really should consider Smith, rather than relegating the father of modern economics theory to the dustbin of "random quote". but i guess you knew that all along :)

Sam drops the price effective tomorrow.

Wal Mart just announced $97 price point for 16gb 3GS starting next week!

Which raises the question: Who is going to buy a 3GS and what are they thinking?

Also, who is going to buy my original iPhone and how much will they pay me?

There should be an option to unlock after the contract is up, then depending on the condition of the phone : 20-30% less than the price of the phone before it was subsidized.

Now quit trying to be a smart-ass
