It just worked. I've been trying all day. Finally just got it to add to cart. It moved a lot faster (I think things are shaping up). As soon as I added to cart, and was checking out, my session expired. However, the iPhone 4 still remained in my cart and I was able to check out successfully. Delivery on June 24!

Good luck, all.

did you receive a conformation email from them?

We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later.

I still get this screen and it forces me to reserve one in store... what is wrong? I can't get the option for delivery...

White iPhone Availabe Mid-August

Went by my local Best Buy and the phone sales guy said they'd recently received word that the white iPhones wouldn't be available until mid-August. The sales guy said he had to call several people who had pre-ordered under the assumption of getting the white one to deliver the bad news.

After seeing the utter chaos that today has been for so many people trying to order their phones, I'm becoming happier that my white phone choice took me out of the craziness (for now).

Having said that, I wish everyone the best of luck who is still trying to get a phone on the 24th!

From experience, confirmation emails during peak time do not come until several hours later. I expect one to come within the next 24 hours. I screenshot my final order and recorded my order number in case I need to follow-up.

Mine went through, scheduled for delivery on the 24th.

Confirmation email hasn't shown yet, but I wouldn't expect to until later.
:D

Buyer beware

Hello.

A quick "buyer beware" if you "reserved" an iPhone for store pickup. After calling and speaking to multiple reps, this reservation does *not* guarentee you one on launch day (it's in the fine print). How it actually works: there will be two lines, reserved vs non-reserved. If you made a reservation, someone that didn't will not get it over you. However, if they run out of iPhones before you cone up in line- you go on the backorder list. As I was told, the reservation list will be larger than the available quantity, as they have no way to control what the stores will truly receive. This is why the reservation confirmation states that the phones are still first-come, first-served.

Alot of you probably know this, but for those that reserved one with plans of walking in 1 hour before close to grab yours, well, that might not work.

I just received my confirmation email from Apple for confirmed delivery on June 24.
~ 2 hours after placing my online order.

Question.

I "Reserved" mine via the Apple Store App but got one of those crazy $599 prices AND I'm only one of the "Family Members" on an AT&T Family Plan. Which means I'm not the primary on the account. I used the primary's SS# last four when I "Reserved". When I go to the Apple store on the 24th will the primary need to be present for me to receive my phone or can I get it without the primary? I also hope that the price issue isn't a problem come June 24th.

The primary will need to be present because a 2-yr contract renewal will need to be approved by the primary. The price issue most likely will not be a problem, but if AT&T already reset your 2-yr contract as a result of the upgrade, it will help you if you have evidence that you are/were eligible. I'm in shock now.

My reservation confirmation says nothing about first come first served...

Good to know about the "reservation" thing. When I chose to go that route, I assumed I'd be waiting in a line but I do plan to get there pretty early.

This verbiage is at the bottom of my confirmation e-mail:

"Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis."

Is this verified? That the primary account holder MUST be present? That will be quite difficult for me. Considering I already have the account holders last four of SSN, what is the actual reason for them being present?

2 confirmed pre orders...

after trying about 200 times on both apple Store and At & t I was able to order the phone on att.com around 4.30 pm yesterday.. got a confirmation number on screen (which I printed) and am able to track the order today.. didn`t recieve a email though.
after reading that att was sold out of their initial stock I went ahead and tried to order from the apple store again.. ended up ordering there at around 1030 pm last night, and got a confirmation email with delivery June 24th..

both confirmations are at upgrade price for the same phone number.. What do you think will happen?

Just got off the phone with my local Apple Store. She said that the account holder no longer has to be present. So for everyone that is on the parents, wife's, dog's, etc. account, you should still be able to cruise in and grab your new device without any worry.

I ordered from AT&T at 7:00am Central time, and when I try to view my order status on my at&t account it says Backordered. Is this how it is until the item ships? Then It will be off backorder??? I sure hope I get my i4 on the 24th

yeah i got mine last night too. it was like almost 7 hours after i preordered, but i got it. thanks man. oh one more thing, in your order details, does it say "no voice plan" and "no text plan?" i'm just curious if this is just a glitch or something.

Best Buy Pre-orders!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My question is, bestbuy was reserving the white iphone4, and now apple is saying they are not available, what's going to happen to those reservations? I reserved a black one, but don't want to lose my reservation ahead of those who ordered the white one... wonder what best buy is going to do?

has anyone noticed that they can order another iphone today at the same $199 price, even after pre ordering one yesterday? I wanted to know if this was a system screw up allowing me to get another cheap phone, or if it will cancel out my first order...
