iPhone 4 Available for Pre-Order from Apple

just reserved mine.

I have been trying on and off since 5:30am PDT with no success on the apple site, so I finally called the store that I want to pick my phone up at and they told me that the apple store app was working great, and that it was the best way to reserve myself a phone. I had tried it this morning as well, but it was crashing worse than apple.com so I hadn't gone back. Anyway, it took me less than 2 minutes to reserve it using the apple store app for iPhone.

Best Buy

Just contacted my local Best Buy store (Huntington, WV) and they ARE taking preorders for the white iPhone 4. They do not have a release date, but they are taking the preorders. yay! :p
 
Has anyone noticed the fact that in less than 24 hours of it being available the Apple Online store from the UK now says July 2nd and they were selling the unlocked ones without subsidy!
 
Like I've said several times now... Best Buy has the white in their system available for pre-order and they claim they will have it release day. Absolutely NOTHING to lose. I ordered my white one (and a black in case) and have a receipt for it.
 
Is it different to reserve the item than to pre-order?

i mean pre-order you pay now...
but what are the chances of them reserving it for you? will you still receive the item that day?

My question as well....it seems like it worked but I haven't gotten a confirmation email and its been ~30 mins since seeing that message and there was no confirmation number or anything...

I would love to know what store you were at! My local one just said that they don't know what the release date was, but that the preorder will be put into the system and when the white phone is released, I would be notified that I can pick it up. So, it could be on June 24th, or it could be July 24th. No one really knows because Apple is being so secretive about the release date of the precious white iPhone 4.

As an existing AT&T customer you have the option to keep your unlimited data plan. I would call them up if I were you & clear this up.

Best Buy is not claiming that it will be available that day, they are only guaranteeing that when it is available the people that pre-ordered them will get them first.

I called 2 different Best Buy stores today & both times I was told they will not be getting the White one at all. NOBODY will, not even APPLE. I do hope they're wrong & you get what you want. ;)

When I ordered, the "data plan selection" page listed all three options with the "unlimited" option having a "keep existing plan" button.

In hindsight, I should probably have switched to the 2GB plan and saved myself $5/month. Hopefully I still have the option of doing this later, and haven't locked myself into Unlimited for another two years...

I'm not saying I WILL get it on June 24th.. Just going by what they told me... I'd be MORE surprised if it was there the 24th than if it wasn't... but you never know... Didn't cost me anything - I'll use the gift card either way.

If you're ordering a new phone with a new phone number, the process is absolutely painless. If you're trying to port a new number over during the ordering process, you'll get an error message every time. Unfortunately, now I'll have to go to the AT&T store when I get mine and have our Sprint numbers ported to the iPhone.

yea im a new customer and it went throug completely fine, and i got an email but no further stuff like shipping info and it hasnt even touched my checking account yet...is this normal? did it go through? anyone answer please:D

r u an iphone user currently or any other smartphone they provided? cuz i am using the unlimited data plan on an unlocked htc hero right now, and when i asked them, they said i can't keep my unlimited data becuz it's not for smartphone.

I'm going with option C, They didn't sell the white version to try and cut maybe 40% of the people who would rather get the white than black

that will lessen the impact of the servers...to some degree :p

I, however, am waiting until i see the white iphone in my hand to see if i like the look of it. I've always gotten the black version and maybe it's time for a change. Hopefully it won't be so hard to keep clean since it's covered in glass :confused:
 
Finally!! Hopefully it's legit!!

I started trying to pre-order at 3:30am central time. After error after error after error for nearly 12 hours, I was finally able to get in via the Apple site at 3:00pm. I hope I don't get one of those emails after the fact that say there actually WAS an error. Good luck everyone!! All I can say is keep trying....I did nothing different when it finally worked, just caught it at the right time I guess!

when you did it, did it say "no text plan" in the details? i'm just wondering if maybe apple doesn't look at your text plan when you preorder through them.

Yup. If you have an Apple Store near you, going through the app is the only fool-proof way to get one at this point.
 
It just worked. I've been trying all day. Finally just got it to add to cart. It moved a lot faster (I think things are shaping up). As soon as I added to cart, and was checking out, my session expired. However, the iPhone 4 still remained in my cart and I was able to check out successfully. Delivery on June 24!
