I'm getting:

2011 up
783 down
149 latency.

I do get the signal drop when I grab by left corner.

Not worried - it'll work out.

Love the phone!

That was my best so far. My average speeds are 1500-2000 during the day and 2000-3000 during off-peak (11pm-7a or so).

Uploads are 1000-1500.

Ok, here's mine from in my house on the outskirts of being out in the 'country' in rural NC. Good for you AT&T!!!!

HOLY CRAP! iPHONE 4: COME TO CANADA ALREADY!!! I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGERRRRRR!

LOL. I know eh. I want!

I bet the upload speeds are going to be great here. The download speeds are amazing everywhere I go, but the upload speeds aren't so great. But that's not a problem with the Rogers network, the 3G & 3GS just aren't capable of upload speeds any faster than 384kbps.

I'm shocked at how slow ATT's 3G is. On my Nexus One with T-mobile, tethering to my notebook, I'm constantly getting 6.2Mbps down and 1.8Mbps up and I get unlimited down on my plan as well (well 10GB is the cap really thats what I hear).

I know Att is supposed to upgrade their 3G service by the end of the year though so perhaps it will catch up with T-mobile at the end of this year.

Trolling, eh?

No difference in speeds of data transfer between the two (to my knowledge)

No, the 3GS actually doesn't have HSUPA, so the iPhone 4 should have significantly faster upload speeds than even the 3GS. That's true of the iPad as well - my 3G upload speeds with the iPad are about 200 Kbs, while they are 1.2Mbs with iPhone 4. It makes a big difference, though I don't know why they wouldn't have put the faster chip in the iPad as well. Even my old HTC Fuze did HSUPA. Oh well, I'm happy we've got it at last, and I'm sure the next iteration of the iPad will get it too.

Full 3G bars in Madison WI. Ran 20 tests in the same location/orientation but holding it in a variety of ways.

Download Average: 1765 Kbps
Upload Average: 1243 Kbps

Download Standard Deviation: 613
Upload Standard Deviation: 53

Download Min/Max: 708/3290
Upload Min/Max: 1076/1274

Haven't had any dropped signal at my location, no matter how I hold the phone.

No just shocked honestly. I always had the impression that ATT's 3G down was around 6-7Mbps.

When ATT updates its towers though by the end of this year, it'll have HSPA and hopefully faster down and up.

It depends where you are (just as it does with T-Mobile). AT&T has HSDPA/HSPUA, but like with everything else, some areas have faster speeds than others, not everyone achieves the maximum theoretical speed, and not everywhere is up to 7.2 yet. Ironically, I switched to AT&T in fall 2008, not for the iPhone, but because I was so sick of waiting for T-Mobile to have _any_ kind of 3G in my area, let alone HSPA.
