? The only metal buttons I see are from the iPhone 4. Even if there were buttons, it's way overpriced.

If you're talking about on the official Apple Bumpers, the buttons you see on the outside of the case aren't the actual buttons from the phone. They are buttons built into the Bumper that activate the buttons on the phone itself. They match the phones physical buttons in look and feel, so it appears that they are the actual buttons on the phone sticking through the case. But they are separate buttons actually.

This just in, a fix to the reception issues is available for $29.00 oh and two ugly ass cases are available too! :p

Got mine on day one...

Wasn't aware there was a delay on the Bumpers being delivered. I had my black one delivered on the 24th with my iPhone 4. I have to say, I wish I could carry the phone without the Bumper but judging by the number of times I dropped my 3GS I think I'm going to need it.

One advantage of using the case is that you are less likely to be mugged for your new shiny iPhone 4! My friend took his out on the train and within seconds had a large group around him wanting to see. I took mine out and no one even noticed!

I don't care what the reception issue is. I'm getting my iphone at the end of August.
There ain't no stopping me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why?

are people really that clumsy with their phones? in 15 years I can only rember a few times i've dropped a phone. I may get a bumper if it improves the recption and if there is no software fix for the antenna issue.

Buy why enclose a great looking and slim phone? try putting that in your pocket.

Bumpers...

Just so you know, you can't actually plug in the iPhone to sync it with the bumper on, they made the hole too small to accommodate the connector. Nor does it fit into the iPhone dock with the bumper on.

Not keen on cases is general.

I never liked cases. They take away the tasteful streamlined look and feel. I am perfectly capable of taking care of my iPhone, thank you. I am aware that there are elegant Vaja cases and whatnot, but I just don't need them. Just using a simple iPod sock if needed and my 3G looks like brand new. If someone works in an industrial surrounding and needs protection that's fine by me, I just don't find these cases tasteful.

This should only be an issue with old cables. I have my old ipod cable from 5 years ago plugged in to my computer. I tried the new one and it worked fine.

I don't see the appeal of cases either.
It's like buying a brand new Porsche and driving it around with some type of car cover on it ...

sofa in plastic?

Isn't covering the design of the phone sort of like covering your sofa in plastic? It keeps it looking great it's just why have something that looks so great and then cover it up so you can't see it just to keep it looking great??

Ah, you might be right, I think I'm using an old cable. I didn't realize there was a difference.

Nevermind. :)

Created a rough mock-up of how the different bumper colours will change the overall appearance of the iPhone 4:

Personally, I like the bamboo cases, though

wow

Just ordered a iPhone! £499. Checked the bumpers and £25... WOW

Apple must be laughing their heads off. Unbelievable
