No, the stuttering is still there. But I would have to say it's only noticeable to the critical eye. Otherwise, it really has no effect on the performance or functionality. By the way are you running an AT&T or Verizon (CDMA) phone?

Hm, that's an interesting question. In my case, AT&T. Perhaps that makes a difference?

There may be differences in the background processes alive in our respective units, too. And that has to do with what apps are loaded, what location-based and other services may be enabled for them (and for iOS in general), etc.

In any case, while I'm eager to get my 5S, iOS7 has made a noticeable difference in my 4's usability and all-around niceness. What a nifty and beautiful little device, antique though it is.

Anyway, I hope your 4 wakes up snappy today.

Another clean install here on my 4. Was never über fast to start with but on os7 very smooth. Not in love with the icons but glad I upgraded. Will keep me from a new phone for a while.

No problem here, it's perfectly usable and no worse than my previous jailbroken 6.1.2

I updated yesterday and am very happy. I don't notice anything slower, in fact it seems faster if anything. It's great. It's like having a new phone I have a iPhone 4.

It's fine for me. Did you restore or upgrade? Restore seems a bit improved over the upgrade in my testing (yes, I did both).

Installed last night on my 4, was as laggy as ever on the springboard just after the update. But after today it has actually gotten a whole lot quicker, it's a pleasure to use, and over iOS 6 on certain tasks it's faster.

One bugbear though, and it's the fact that in the music app (And the contacts app) the alphabet scroll bar thingy on the right side has every other letter blanked out with a dot. Nothing major, but if anyone could shed any light on that I would be grateful :)

My mum upgraded her iPhone 4 to iOS 7 and is really happy about it! It´s very smart and thoughtful of Apple to turn off all the "cool new gimmicks" for the very old iPhones, so even those users can enjoy iOS 7 without suffering lags. As usual, Apple cares about its customers new and old :D

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 7. I can't believe this but this is my 3rd iOS update! I bought my phone in Feb 2011 with iOS 4 on it lol. Anyway, I really like it so far. It's not very noticeable in difference of speed/lagg from iOS 6. I like the fresh look to the phone. However, after I upgrade my iPhone 4 I feel like I need to get a new iPhone (5C or 5S) so I can enjoy all the new features that's missing. I was plan on getting a new iPhone when Apple release 5S but the 5C is more reasonable for me for now. I'm most likely gonna trade in my iPhone 4 for a 5C thus being free*. (Gazelle offer $115 for my iPhone 4)

VZW 16 gb iPhone 4 here, updated to 7.0 from 6.1.3. So far, no real problems & I'm liking it. I did the install via iTunes as an update but did not do a fresh install. Per advice here, I did clean up content & apps before hand so as to have about 4.2 gb free which was the same after the update. The generally lighter appearance of everything is much easier on my aging eyes, and all my apps are working so far as I can tell.

Perhaps I need to do a thorough search through threads here but the only "issues" I've noticed so far are:

- parallax does not seem to be enabled for iPhone 4 although apparently it is on the 4S

- swiping up from the bottom does not bring up the Control Center although it's enabled in Settings. I was able to bring it up once inadvertently while swiping up through my Contacts list. Haven't been able to replicate it...Conversely, swiping down from the top does bring up the Notifications Center consistently.

In all, so far so good for the iPhone but will wait on my iPad 3. This is partly because one of the worst apps on it (NYT Crosswords by Magmic) is also one of my main addictions. Magmic provides absolutely terrible support with every one of their updates crashing and/or locking out subscribers. I'm afraid that moving to iOs 7 might do in that app.

I am actually really liking iOS 7 on my iP4. Control center is really ugly, but I'd rather have an ugly control center than a pretty one with lag

I got the same one (Non-CDMA model). I'll be getting the iPhone 6 probably, don't even use my phone that much. I'm more crazy about the upcoming OS X than ios 7 though. :)

Great to see the positivity in this thread. I tested ios 7 at GM but went back to 6 on my 4. I'd be interested to hear how performance for you folks is on

A) waking from sleep
B) entering text in Safari

Those were the two deal breakers for me. In both cases as unacceptably long pause - v different from instant response in ios 6.

Working fine for me. Overall happy with the new look, even though not all of the iOs 7 features are available for iPhone 4.

Battery life seems a bit worse, but I think that's because I 1) have been fooling around with the phone more than usual 2) downloaded and changed the notifications settings on some apps.

I updated via iTunes, through the restore button. Having no problems so far. Like the new look.

It only doesn't seem laggy because you are acustomed to a slow processor. Use a 5 or better and you will see how laggy the 4 really is. It's like eating saltines for your entire life and someone putting a small piece of cheese on one, yeah, tastes good, but your head will explode when you eat a nice filet mignon.

I upgraded from a 4 to a 5 a few weeks ago and to be honest I haven't noticed a huge difference in speed. Obviously I never tried iOS 7 on it though. Overall I think I preferred the whole design and feel of the 4 too.

My advice would be, if you have a 4 and are happy with how it runs iOS 7 then skip the whole 5 series upgrade and wait to see what the 6 offers.

Add me to the list of happy users iPhone 4 users running iOS 7. I upgraded my iPad 3 a few days ago since that is at least dual core so I was less worried about killing the performance. After being very happy with my iPad 3 experience I took the risk and upgraded my iPhone 4 yesterday and it feels easily as fast as iOS 6 did on my iPhone and the features such as control centre, multi-page folders, Safari improvements and the universal go-back-one-page gesture (preparation for a bigger screen on the iPhone 6?) really make a big difference on the iPhone.

I have no regrets at all about upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 except that I haven't had time to assess the impact on battery life yet so I can't comment on that.

AssistiveTouch on my iPhone 4 lags like hell. The others are OK, the camera shortcut on the home screen lags a little, so does some other (eg multitasking) animations. AssistiveTouch is crucially important to me since my home button has been basically useless since a year ago.

My iPhone 4 has become extremely laggy now after a week of usage.

Last thing I did was enable Contact syncs in iCloud, then turn it back off to keep on my phone...

This happened last time, anything toggled in iCloud seems to just bug out and drain the phone like crazy.

Getting kind of sick of iOS7 now, I was very happy with it - but now just feel it sucks.

Edit - Well, a restart fixed it... but seems weird iOS7 can suddenly just bug out and go laggy... don't even know the cause either.

The only thing that seems to be missing since iOS 6 is the weather in the Notification Centre.

Just turn on Location Services for Weather and it'll appear in NC.

Anyone else having problems saving keyboard shortcuts? I can't seem to save any shortcuts on my iphone 4 after installing ios7.
