iPhone 4 on Apple website is OFFICIALLY on backorder

I cleared my cache and the site says 7/2, but the one in my cart is still 6/24.

Contemplating on whether or not I should get it for someone...

I really want to cancel my AT&T Premier order, I got an email, but I'm not charged or preauthorized on my card, and I don't know if they'll delivery by 6/24.

What to do?!?
 
Hi guys, I was just finishing up the online order and also saw the ships by July 2 status. I also managed to reserve one in my local store earlier. I was wondering, if I successfully reserved (and got a confirmation email to my apple account) does that mean that I'm guaranteed one in store any time during the day on the day of release? Thanks for the info.

I believe so, yes.
 
Finally! I just completed my order for a 32gb black iPhone 4 and it says shipping June 24th. I just completed the order like 2 seconds ago, but I did have it saved in my cart for an hour or so starting around 9:00 pm.


Edited to add that even after my order completed my order status still says the 24th for the ones who keep saying it changes after you order.

Yes, you are guaranteed one IF you show up by the end of the day to pick it up.
 
i tried for like a half hour this morning until finally at 7 i got my order to go through. and i got my order conformation email at 7 tonight. so ha ha to all those who didn't get there order:D and my email says ships: june 24th wooooooooo
 
Still shows June 24 on the main page but when you select to pre order it and when it asks for your number, zip and social and get through those pages when it verifies, when its finally in your cart after selecting ship to home instead of pick up at apple store it'll say July 2nd.
 
I don't know about all apple stores, but the one next to my house didn't sell out of the 3G or the 3GS on launch day. I can only imagine that is the same thing for the 4.

I ordered a 32gb around 7pm EDT time tonite, and got my confirmation email that says deliver on 24th (Via apple.com store). Just went back and tried another iphone order, and it is still showing delivers on 24th after I added to my cart. So I don't know. I would fine it surprising they would run out of preorders so quickly. This is version 4.

I was one of them :eek: This is craziness, glad I got my pre-order to go through! Millions of these must have been pre-ordered and reserved...
 
Wait a second...I just checked, and it said "Delivers by June 24th." Am I missing something?
 
havent recieved my confirmation email, but on my confirmation page it shows the jun 24th date, hope thats what my email says...

pre-orders also haven't sold out and gotten back-ordered within the first day if I recall correctly lol. the iPhone 4 is MASSIVE.

I'm in the same spot.. Apples site seems to be working now and says it will SHIP June 24th.. can we cancel those AT&T Premier orders? Is that even smart?
 
Yeah, it's sold out online. It says "By July 2" if you refresh it.
