You know what, with a june 2010 join date and newbie sign plastered under your name, you would better off not posting condescending comments about the things that are bothering other long standing members.

People are upset because they tried all day to do the smart thing and order it for delivery and because of att incompetence they are SOL.

If you care to contribute to this board and provide thoughtful discussion then those comments will not help. If all you want to do is hang around and post snide remarks about us "Fan Boys" well we have enough of those already, our membership is full.

I don't know about all apple stores, but the one next to my house didn't sell out of the 3G or the 3GS on launch day. I can only imagine that is the same thing for the 4.

You have to realize that almost EVERYONE is elligable for an upgrade (thanks AT&T): 2G users that waited, 3G, and 3GS if their contract is up in the next 6 mos and they pay a certain amount.

My wife got a 3GS a little over a month ago and she can buy a new 16gb for $399 - now that's insane.

ugh ok i'm so confused. i got all three of my confirmation emails (i ordered 3 iphones) and they all said delivery on june 24th. this was at around 9pm est. is my order officially backordered or will i get it on the 24th?

I think you were good if you were able to add to cart by a certain time, even if it took awhile to get the sale to go through.

It took me at least an hour after I was able to add to my shopping cart.

Not that I'm defending at&t overall the first issue this morning was Apple's shopping cart. Apple was breaking well before at&t was. It just so happened that the queries to at&t likely grew exponentially to a point during the day.

Didn't this happen last year? I thought that the date was screwed up but Apple corrected it later on. The only thing I can imagine being the cause is because theres only a black model for sale.

I'm in the same spot.. Apples site seems to be working now and says it will SHIP June 24th.. can we cancel those AT&T Premier orders? Is that even smart?

I was trying all day. Was #3 at my local best buy and was still trying to order in line on my iPad. I finally got thru and ordered on apple website at 4pm. I've been trying since 5am PST.

It looks like our day's activities ran parallel.

I was up at 0600 PDT...Tried a couple of hours of fruitless efforts to order through Apple.com. Went to Best Buy. Was #3 for 32GB black (#6 overall). Came home. Ended up trying again, and getting through with an order at 1600 PDT.

I will keep an eye on the shipping and will cancel my BB order once it ships. I can always use the gift card for another purchase.

Dang. 6 to 8 days for shipping. Well I just noticed that they are no longer offering overnight shipping, only standard. Does anyone know if they are offering overnight on this second batch of deliveries.

This is extremely annoying. I first tried ordering beginning 2AM Pacific Time, and I must have tried nearly 100 times today to put the order through. To my great joy it finally went through at 8PM (with the promise that it would ship by June 24th), but then I was shocked when the confirmation page appeared and said it would ship July 2nd (and arrive July 6th-8th).

It's also irritating that the Apple Store's Order Status page isn't working either.
