I cleared my cache, then tested it out. The main screen says ships by July 2, but if you go through the next couple of steps between choosing shipping or Apple pick-up, it says ships by June 24. That's not the same as delivers by June 24, but it is better than ships by July 2. The question is, which is correct? I'd guess July 2.
Yep....until you add it to a cart. Changes to "ships by July 2nd" and then "delivers by July 6-8".
While this sucks because of the system issues....sold out is sold out. I couldn't order for delivery on June 24th because I am going to be on vacation...this would be different if they would allow shipping to other than billing address i could have had it shipped to work I will most likely just try to buy locally. I took a vacation day to wait for my 3G iPad....I would get no end of grief from my smart ass wife if I took another to wait for new iPhone.

Perhaps this is not a stock issue, but a processing one. There may be a limit to how many shipments could be managed at once, etc. There are likely other bottlenecks besides just the supply.
Regardless, mine is confirmed.

yeah - few guys were telling me (when I was on rant rampage) to chill down and it would have been simple for me to come back later and order without hitch and stop whining etc etc - glad that I don't listen to strangers

I was wrong about being able to come back and order later, but that thread you posted was a bit much.
I just tried to order an iPhone through the Apple Online Store. I'm creating a new ATT plan as well. I got to the part after I input all my info and it tells me to create a reservation. There was never any "submit order" or "confirm" button. Did I do something wrong?

Tried at different points throughout the day for 5-15 minutes at a pop. Got busy and stopped trying, and was able to finally place my order about 1 hour ago. I just received my confirmation email and it states delivery on the 24th.
Ironically, I'm now trying to cancel my in-store reservation for pickup, and the system is not allowing me to process the cancellation.
You don't need to cancel your in store reservation. It's not a guaranty that you'll get one by that method anyway.
