The thinner ones don't have a clip though. The defender series is way too bulky in my opinion. Oh well, I guess Otterbox is not for me.

That Defender case looks real nice - I'd like to know the thickness diff between it and the Commuter case as well.
Holster I could take or leave at this point as I've gotten used to carrying my phone in a pocket. And summer is the hardest time to do that, come Fall/Winter/Spring there is always a jacket to put it in.

We were waiting for the Defender case to order the new phone for my wife...she's prone to dropping her phone. I'm just not sure how much she'll like all black...any word on when other colors will be available?

That would certainly be great but I can't see a case of that quality being offered by Apple for free. Of course I'm sure most case makers make a nice profit off their sales so maybe Apple will be able to get some nice cases at a good price.
am I the only one getting stupid system maitanence errors on otterbox order site? The second time I tried it they were saying my shipping type might not be available...and their phones are busy

After it told me my shipping might not be available I clicked submit order again and it DID go through. I just hope the very first time I tried submitting it didn't go through BUT i only received one confirmation email so thats a good sign. I guess we will see. I top right now have a ZAGG shield on my screen what I probably will do is use some cooking spray(yay SPAM!) bc I am afraid of the WD40 chemicals.

My thinking is that the Commuter is $34.95 retail compared to Apple's Bumper at $30. $5 is a significant enough price difference, but I'd bet Otterbox would sell in bulk very cheaply to Apple just to be a part of this program. Who knows, though. We'll see later this week. I'm holding out hope until then...
I currently have a zagg invisible shield on my iphone4. I just ordered the defender and am curious is there any way for me to keep my zagg on and still have my defender case?

Just an FYI look over at the iPad thread there are some folks tried that and had trouble but not sure maybe you can try it for the iPhone 4 and let everyone know or not
OK I just ordered the Defender for my iphone 4. Im so happy with my iPad defender Im sure this one is also going to work just fine.
Once Fedex delivers I will be posting some pics like I did for the iPad Defender.
The coupon codes still work great!!! I used the code: techbargains6100p and got 10%off with free Fedex shipping. Im hoping it ships within the next day Im heading to Hawaii in couple weeks and want maximum protection. Looks like I get to email Alex again about getting a discount He is a Otterbox Rep I spoke with while waiting for the iPad who told me there are no discounts for Otterbox.
Just FYI when I placed the order it said ships within 7-10 days in BOLD RED however my iPad order said the same thing and it shippied out by the next day so hopefully the same thing will happen again with the iPhone 4 Defender.
Also just heads up when I placed the order today the Otterbox system must be getting hammered pretty hard. Once I hit submit order it took a good 4 minutes sitting there loading till it finally confirmed my order and I also have email confirmation so be patient.

I actually tried it with my ipad defender case and was sucesfful. The trick was I rubbed a little wd40 along the rails and it went in smoothly. The reason I ask on the iphone is that my previous defender had the screen protector on it.

Hey thats cool tip will keep that in mind. Now the chemicals in the WD40 wont eat away or break down the Rubber/Plastic over time of the Defender will it? Or even the Zagg material just curious?

I thought about that, this is why I lightly rubbed it in the rails to minimize the amount I used. I guess you could also use other things like, cooking spray, or maybe even butter. Again just enough to let the zagg slide by.
