I got my pick-up e-mail yesterday. I did not get a moving up e-mail, just the pick-up one.

I got it from the Eastview Victor, New York apple store. I was on the list since 7/3.

Phone works pretty flawless. Nothing strange that I can point out. I tried the camera out for the first time at my brothers work that has florescent lighting and it had the green blob but not in any other lighting so I'm gunna keep it.

Good luck to the rest of you.

How is Apple confirming your reservation?

Hi everyone! For those of you that have picked up your iPhone 4 at the Apple Store in your area after being on the "reservation list", how did the Apple store confirm your reservation? Were you asked for your email address or phone number or some other piece of data?

I'm curious because on launch day the Apple Store employees just asked if you had a reservation but didn't verify it at all.

My iPhone 4 story so far (tl;dr - I've been waiting a while to get an iPhone 4):

On launch day I was on vacation in Portland so I put in a reservation for the Pioneer Place Apple Store. I didn't realize how busy the store would be, when I got there there were at least 300 people in line waiting. After waiting 4 hours or so I had to leave to catch my fight back home to Orlando.

After arriving in Orlando I called around and found out that none of the stores had stock, plus I was leaving for a business trip the next day (Saturday) to London, so I gave up and just ordered the phone online. The shipping estimate said July 21 (this was on June 26th).

At some point during my business trip my credit card was stolen, so when I got back home I received an email from Apple explaining that my order was cancelled because the payment I used wasn't valid (because the cards number had been changed).

At this point I was irritated enough to give up for a few days, but on July 13th I called and asked my local store (Altamonte Springs) if they had any stock (after seeing on http://apple.com/retail that phones were being sold on a first come, first served basis). The employee said that they didn't have any in stock, and the only real hope of getting one any time soon was to get on the priority list.

I was a little surprised considering the list wasn't mentioned on the website at all, but he added me over the phone and I got the confirmation email that I was on the list in a few minutes.

When I was added to the list, the Apple store employee told me it would be about a week. After reading through this thread it seems like I may have to wait quite a bit longer than that (16GB) but I guess we'll see.

I did call them back yesterday (7 days in to the list) and asked if there was some way to check how far up I was on the list. The Apple store employee I spoke with said there wasn't anyway for her to check.

Because she said this, I'm wondering what would happen if I walked into the Apple store and told them that I had received my confirmation email. Even if they ask for my phone number / email address, I'm guessing they wouldn't shut me down if I was at least on the list. Has anyone tried this yet?

the holdup in picking mine iphone up in london yesterday, was they were checking emails against some system (guess its who they sent the emails to) as one woman was getting very worked up as she said she had got the email, but her email was not on this list (she also tried her brothers email etc) but left from what I could see (after waiting in line for about 30 mins)

so if they are checking then you need to provide the email address from what I saw.

That wouldn't work. They go in to check your name off in a database before they let you buy the phone.

When I went to pick up mine, the Apple store employee asked me for my name and e-mail address. He went to one of the iMacs, pulled my name up and checked to see if I got an e-mail.

Blast! If I get bored or any more anxious I may still try this, but thanks for the warning!

I put my name back on the list (I missed my first reservation) at the Lehigh Valley, PA store for a 32gb on Monday 7/19 and I got my pick up email today, 7/21. Not too shabby.

time, did you get off the cambridgeside list? of so, do you still need that reservation?

Day 21 for a 16gb ...

I have seen a few people who received their phone on the 21st day, but has anyone been waiting longer?

Iphone in stock

If anyone is interested the best buy in findlay ohio had 5 or 6 of each phone in stock as of last night. Hope this can help someone.

Day 19, still no email. Called the apple store yesterday and they said they were still giving out iphones to the customers who preordered. :(

I put my name on the list for a 32gb iPhone on 7/15 at the Leawood store. I just received my email today that it was ready to pick up. I guess it is true the 32gb versions are coming in quicker. Should I go ahead and get the 32gb or just wait for the 16gb? Is it really easy to fill it up?

Hello - anyone else on the list at NYC 5th ave for a 16 Gb?
I know applenyc10 was a 7/1 and got his last Saturday, but I got on the list 7/2 and still nothing. The rep on the phone wouldn't even tell me if I am on the list or not!

Thanks!

21 days was a long wait- but I am sure it will be worth it!!

Now I just have to get through about 6 more hours of work...
