Does anyone know how the diffuser is setup?

Is there a lens AND a diffuser built into the back panel? or just the diffuser? how does that work?

Al you really need to know is, It's the same back plate but without the diffuser. That's it.

Looking at your video it appears it is not. Did you ever figure out what that strip is on the black back plate? iresq did not know what that was.

I checked with the guy from whiteiphone4.com, and he says:

"My guy said that ours are OEM but no part seller has the diffuser. "

Short explanation: He says he "I sell all OEM parts fresh out of Foxconn! I know a guy." Dunno what exactly that means.

The guy running the site has been extremely helpful, and always gets back to me within a few minutes.

I think that there are certainly different levels of quality for the back cover... some don't even have the lens covers, at least this guy's are the entire thing. I dunno how the diffuser attaches, as I've never taken one apart. Guess I'll find out.

I really wanted the white iphone, but was always turned off by the completely white front. So I got my hands on an oem Apple white back case, and installed that. I think it's a nice look, but you can tell it's not supposed to be there, since the front has a black bordered edge, and the rear has a white bordered edge. Overall, I still personally like the look more. Obviously this is purely subjective, but thought I'd post pictures. Don't mind the crappy screen protector.

I just installed my very own OEM white back cover too.. Fortunately I was able to find one with the black interior so the I have the black lines on the side. it was also cheap from SW-Box.com i see your post is dated so chances are they hadn't made that variation back then.

Im digging up this thread because im considering doing what the OP did. I wanted to change the whole color of the iphone, but thats more expensive and requires more skills and patience that i don't have lol.
So, im thinking of just changing the back color and i think it will still look nice and different. I was looking on ebay and i found some very cheap ones, something like 4$ with shipping and although the price is good, it also makes me suspicious.

Im not expecting a real OEM back cover, but i just want it to fit it right and with no problems. I read that some of these don't have diffusers for the flash and thats my main concern, that then when taking pictures they will not look the same because of the flash on the new cover.
This one seems to have it but im not sure and so i will leave the picture:

Here is the ebay link : http://www.ebay.ie/itm/New-White-Gl...768?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2573cd5a38

I don't know much about back covers or iphone parts, so do you notice anything wrong/missing in this back cover? Has anyone had any problems with the camera after changing the back cover? Have you ever bought from this seller?

Thanks!
