I'm wondering if there's a technical reason why the diffuser is not on the white backs? The black backs that IRESQ, et al., sell have the diffuser and the little plastic insulating strip on the side, whereas the white does not. I wonder if the white plate is truly OEM without the diffuser? Maybe the diffuser coupled with the white back washes out the picture with the flash, whereas without a diffuser the flash is more direct?

Well you could probably sell the back on Ebay and make a profit. I don't think anyone here is gonna buy it for 120 when they can just order one themselves for 95, but you never know.
I wouldn't sell your original back. If you need to take your phone into Apple you'll want to put the original one back one so you dont void your warranty.

just received my white back from iresq.com. and all i can say is wow. It is spot on perfect. Only thing missing is the flash difuser, but wow...it looks sooooo OEM perfect. Very pleased with it. Only thing is the back of it is metal, and the black cover i took off didnt have it. anyone think it could pose a problem with service, or anything?

flash is working just fine, service seems to be same as of now...havent made any calls yet. Ive only had the phone for 3 days, and i havent really had the reception issues many people have to begin with. so i will watch it closely and see if i notice anything.
I called iresq and the rep, who was very helpful, stated the parts are not OEM. He is not sure why the manufacturer is not including the diffuser at this time but they are working to get the parts in with the diffuser. For now, no diffuser if you want a white back.
Also, I asked about the strip on the black glass back panel and why the white one did not have one. He admitted that he never noticed and wasn't sure what the difference was. He reiterated the parts are not OEM so it may be the black panel is made from a different manufacturer than the white panel.
He said they are working hard to get OEM parts eventually in, but for now they are going with these third party manufacturers.

mine from global direct is estimated to be here tomorrow as per fedex tracking. its coming direct from shenzen (sp?) china like all iPhone parts and I believe the iPhone itself. So, its probably OEM and maybe that's the big delay...they can't get any more diffusers

And I'm putting this out there again, once my globalparts white back arrives I can ship it to someone for $100. It takes up to 12 business days if you order from them so you'll get it a lot quicker from me

Also, if you could, double check to see if the inside of the white backs match the black ones, specifically, the little upside-down L shaped strip on the inside right (lens/diffuser side) - the black one has the strip and the white ones that I have seen do not (refer to xraytech's youtube video within this thread for detailed comparison). Be curious to see if your source included that part as well. If it includes all those parts and you have paypal I would be interested in taking that part off your hands.

This is the exact part I am waiting on. Click on "large photo" to see a better view of it. It looks like it has the "L" shapped thing you mention but it clearly states no diffuser.

Maybe I spoke with the same guy at iresq.com. Very helpful and polite however the moment he confirmed that the white panel that I ordered yesterday IS NOT OEM I cancelled my order. I can't justify paying a lot $$$$ for a third party item that's is not OEM, that's just me.
