Its clearly the opposite of a mature fail. Although I'm not entirely sure what that is either..

It is one that is complete, cultivated and cultured. One that has developed and is fit, full-blown, full-fledged and full-grown - maybe even fully grown and in full bloom. It certainly is in its prime, matured and mellowed. It has come of age and been perfected, prepared. It is prime and ready because it is seasoned, settled and sophisticated.

If the Galaxy Nexus has a more reasonable screen size I would sell my iPhone 4S in a hot minute. 3.8" is the happy medium and I don't desire a phablet (via @theverge - phone sized like a tablet).

I am going to contemplate in-person only because the 4S has been such a putrid experience as a fanboy since Original iPhone. I've messed with the Razor and this is even LARGER!

Wow, that Samsung ad is pretty bad, basically takes shots at users. Apple could do a response one with Samsung execs deciding not to update existing phones in order to get people to keep buying their new models every few months. Hopefully they won't though...

Ive switched and will update you on Tuesday when I pick up the phone. Why did I switch?? because Apple didn't come out with a new model iPhone 5, instead they used the same brick iPhone 4 and put a "S" after it

Actually, a pretty good reason :D

Samsung is REALLY on fire in this market (and a whole lot of other markets, i might add ).

If ICS is good i'll maybe switch; a fanboy not. But Android as it is now is not as good a iOS IMHO. And furthermore, IOS is the standard in software. It's just the hardware that's always an issue with Apple; nothing new here.

Android wins in the "most times I restart my phone in a day contest"

Android wins in the "most apps with malware derby"

Android wins in the "fastest to drain battery race"

Android wins with the owners with "most star wars toys competition"

Haha and apple isn't having an issue with battery drain right now:rolleyes:

lol,the nexus looks like cr@p.

Wasn't their rumors on this site that the new iPhone might look like the galaxy nexus? Everybody was drooling of the look of the phone then. Why not now? FANBOY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

When will you realize that what you are posting is strictly YOUR opinion. You are stating your opinions as if they are facts.

When will you realize that the iPhone is perfect in every way. The Nexus is another prime example of yet another phone running a crappy OS.

See what I mean? What I in bold is my opinion and only that.

The iPhone is FAR from perfect in every way. If you breathe on it wrong it might crack. Oh and if you use it at the moment your battery will be dead in less than 6 hrs. Lol

James

Who cares which one is better? Get the one YOU want

btw, just saw a guy in the UK with the new Nexus today.

It does look a bit big.

And if apple comes out with a 4" screen that won't be too big. You guys are never happy. I bet if apple came out with a phone that looked like this you all would be drooling your pants over it. Just because a company came out with it first there is no reason for your feelings to be hurt and bashing a phone you never even used.

The iPhone 4S has Infinity Blade 2 :D. And a GPU that's about 3x faster than the one in the Galaxy Nexus. Also, from Anandtech's benchmarks of the Transformer Prime with its over-hyped Tegra 3 chip, the iPad 2 easily beats that in the graphics department.

Sounds crazy, but I am now teetering back to the iphone 4s over the galaxy nexus. My gf has an iphone 4, and it's just such a pleasure to use as opposed to my droid charge, despite the 4g and super amoled + screen.

If the 4s had 4G, there would be no contest for me. I'd be back on iOS and give up the removable battery, 4G, tethering, etc. But they aren't, and I think that is really holding me back.

The choices we have to make in life...:)

Well going by this head to head comparison of the iPad2 and the Prime, looks like the Prime is much better.
So benchmarks really don't show it, at least in this review of gaming with two of the same games head to head.

All I can say is that the Galaxy Nexus is the only cell phone that has "caught my eye" ever since having an iPhone. Will I get it? No. Does it look great? Yes. To each their own.

To those that are trying to decide which way to go I'll say this: I have first hand experience with my Nexus and can safely say this is definitely the best phone on the market right now. The phone is extremely snappy, there is no screen on the market better than what it has, and the browser is extremely fast and has the best browsing experience of any mobile platform (especially if you use quick controls). I am extremely satisfied with this purchase, as this is easily the best phone I've used (and I've used quite a number of high end phones).

Makes you wonder if the Nexus will match the 96% satisfaction rate the iPhone 4S currently enjoys?

Looks like a nice phone, but I am still skeptical about ICS and how fast 4g actually drains the battery. I have an iPhone 4 model and am extremely satisfied with it. Somehow I just don't think I would say the same thing about a Samesung phone after a year of ownership.

Nexus is better sitting & browsing, although I think the Browsermark score will take a hit once they enable flash as planned. (Interesting how that was disabled for the launch, hmmm.)

But as soon as I'm moving around, the Nexus is just too dang big.

If it doesn't fit in my pocket, I won't rock ... it. Boo!

I would try android but their app selection is really crappy. just the sheer quality difference of the ios apps makes me rather have that. and yes, that is important to me.

Why's that?
I can't speak for the LTE version, but I know first hand that the GSM version's battery life is just fine. It can get through a day of heavy use without much problem.

Flash wasn't "disabled", it's not available yet. There's no ICS compatible version available yet. BTW the browsermark score won't change due to flash (remember you don't have to use it all the time, it can be set to always, on demand, off). As for the pocket thing, that's something I hear repeated on this site a lot about different phones. Fact is though the screen is larger, the phone is just about the same size as the gs2 (which has no problem fitting into a pocket and neither does the GNex).

For me, the biggest problem with android phones is lag (and by lag, I mean lag in screen animations, transitions, pinch-to-zoom...etc); things just are a not smooth than things on the iPhone. For example, on the Droid Razr, the pinch-to-zoom is absolutely atrocious in the gallery; its probably running at like 5 fps - definitely not what you would expect from such powerful hardware. Even with ICS, the animations and transitions just aren't as smooth; things just seem to be running at less fps than on the iPhone.

And the Galaxy Nexus's biggest weakness is its subpar camera. The picture quality doesn't hold a candle to that of the 4S or GS2.

The phone and ICS look pretty amazing. It's just too big for my liking though. :(

Either way the web browser and the multitasking menu on the GN are just . Can't get over how good they are.

I've had none of the issues you speak of and it's odd, most of my apple fanboy friends are also huge Star Wars geeks.

I use several Android phones at work and everyone of them has had all those Android issues.

The iPhone is prettier.
It's tiny, & demure like jewelry. No 1 on the list of the phone most customized with diamonds & other jewels. Loved on Rodeo Dr. What more could a girl want? It's so cute.

Android FAILS at being cute. They're Big Black & really ugly power sucking monsters.

I guess you haven't seen the instances where the Android phone screens have cracked due to a short fall distance? You know I tried to breathe the wrong way on my iPhone 4S and damn if I could not get the glass to crack on the phone. I guess I will just have to keep trying because if you say it is possible it must be true

Let me guess you are referring to a very small percentage (yes very small percenatge) of iPhone users running iOS 5 that have had an issue with battery drain. Stretching this issue much? Apple is addressing the issue and attempting to fix all user battery issues. If anything iOS 5.0.1 has improved the battery life for my iPhone 4S, not that I had an issue previously with iOS 5.0.

It's my understanding only 0.15% of all iPhones have the issue. It was a double blind test.

I think this statement was definitely true two years ago, somewhat true now, and is getting less and less true as time moves on.

But yes, you are correct (and this is coming from a current Android and former iOS user) that generally, iOS apps are better.

However, I recently downloaded the same game on Android and iOS (Where's my Water) and I have to say that they are the same on both in terms of quality/function, and slightly better on my Droid Charge due to the increase in screen size. The GF was complaining that it's easier to play on my bigger screen (you see why if you play the game).

Anyways, I'm hoping that the next iphone comes with 4G and a bigger screen. 4G alone will be enough to bring me back to the iphone.
