Thank you! Can all the Android fanboys now kindly SHUT THEIR YAPPERS! :p

Heaven forbid a company seek to ACTUALLY improve camera quality instead of putting out specs as nothing more than meaningless marketing crap that stupid consumers will fall for!

Maybe Apple should have spent some time actually improving the cell antenna and a little less on the camera.

The iPhone might have the Motorola Droid X beat just slightly when it comes to the camera, but I bet the Droid X will have the iPhone for lunch when it comes to the ability to hold a signal while you are holding the phone.

That new antenna system that Apple was bragging about was total marketing crap. Apple does the same as everyone else.

mine is great

Am I seriously the only one who is getting choppy, grainy video with the iPhone 4, and definitely NOT HD quality???!!!???

Check your lighting. In low light with no flash mine is also very choppy. And as someone said the motion isn't that great. IMO though, the iPhone 4's camera is absolutely incredible for being in my pocket : )

I do believe that the 4G has a really good camera, but honestly, how credible can this comparison be when the source is pro-Apple website?

It would be much more interesting if the comparison was made by an unbiased source

+1

My iPhone doesn't have these signal problems. I also get improved reception in my apartment compared to my 3G.

I agree the signal loss issue is being overblown by people who are over reacting, but still I'd put a Motorola handset of any type up against an iPhone anyday when it comes to the ability to pull in a weak signal. Moto has its faults and is also guilty of releasing phones with issues, but when it comes to antenna and radio design they know what they are doing.

I think it is a great thing that the iPhone has a good camera. I love the idea that each company keeps pushing the next one to get better. I only made the comment because someone was complaing about the marketing that the Android phone builders do. Apple does the same and the so called much improved antenna seems to be marketing as well. If it was as great as Jobs claimed then no one should be having any signal issues at all.

Next up Android magazine will provide an objective review of Smartphone OS's

Heaven forbid can we all know what google search is? Like punch in iPhone 4 camera..and you'll get raving reviews about it. Here's a good one- iPhone 4 vs the whole android family http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/25/AR2010062504039.html and guess who's the winner?;)

Great reception, great sound. Smooth graphics and the best built piece of electronics I have seen.

And the camera is beyond my expectation. Great low light, video is excellent.
This is a very special piece of equipment.

You don't have to tell me twice...love this damne thing:D

No it isn't. When people can cause every phone call to end simply by holding the phone normally, that doesn't qualify as overblown. Only a fanboy of the worst kind would say that. And for the record, every one of our iPhone 4s has the signal issue. Every single phone. If you brought your "perfect" phone to wear I lived, your phone would do the same exact thing.

As for these videos, iPhone definitely wins in video quality, but still sucks compared to a dedicated camera obviously. Audio-wise the Droid kicked its ass.

To be fair, some people hold the iphone like they are wearing sticky mittens or something, so this is why they are having problems.

If you hold the phone with a normal, two or three fingered light grip, you shouldn't be experiencing many if any problems. I am not sure why some people are gripping their phones for dear life and mashing them upside their heads, but they seem to be doing this.

Learn your facts:
What you say only indicates that the antenna of the handset works and reacts as intended when one accidentally touches it and interferes with reception.
These so called "Tests" doesnt tell anything about signal strength or call quality before and after. These tests would be 10x better if have been done in comparison of a 3GS in close proximity, a phone that is generally accepted, but even then you would never be certain of results, as you would never be assured that the handsets would stay in the same cell.
What we really need is a decent lab that knows what GSM is, to run these tests and then I bet, Mr. Jobs will be proven as correct: the antenna design is indeed better of many handsets, including Motorolas

As for the droid device, both in picture as well as video/sound the iphone won hands down. It won in comparison, because as a camera it still lacks compared to true photographic cameras as I said.

I'm not surprised really the Droid X has better audio quality as it has a dedicated mic for video quality compared to others. And isn't many films recored in 24fps? If so, I am not sure how 24fps vs 30fps could be that much of a difference, unless someone wants to explain it to me. I would not be surprised to see either Apple and/or Motorola issue a firmware update that will improve quality and maybe even AF speed, at least that is what I am hoping for.

I've noticed that the iPhone 4 tends to overexpose a bit. It would be nice to have a slider, like the digital zoom, to adjust the exposure.

I'd prefer they replace the digital zoom slider altogether with exposure or focal range sliders. Digital zoom is only useful for using it as a crude magnifier or monocular.

As a side note, wasn't 4.0 supposed to feature built in cropping and rotation? Or am I confused / missing something?

And? Happy with the same results? Trolling around huh?

I wouldn't trust Washington Post either... However, I did check few other, more reliable sites, and it appears that iP4 is indeed beating the competition - which, of course is the good news between all the bad ones :)

As for trolling - Vader - have a bite of :apple: and relax...

I am relaxed do not underestimate the power of the dark side.

Although interesting, I wouldn't say either reports were exhaustive... Very pleased with the camera on the IP4 at the moment...
