Maybe if you used common sense and read the thread you would realize that the OP lives in the UK but got sent an AT&T iPhone 4

Ya, I see no place where it states that clearly. Also, I see no particular reason for that comment to have been in the reply, which is why I was asking for clarification, and that is all I was asking for, so go cry to someone else.

I didn't see if it was stated elsewhere in this thread, what carrier are you on?
Unlocked 4S was sent for repair, intended on using it on the O2 UK network though - Was so caught up with bereavement that I never got a chance to return it to an Apple store so thought the online service would have been less stressful.

An AT&T model (MC319LLA) was returned.

OP, email tcook@apple.com. Explain the whole situation and that you are unhappy with the person that you have assigned to the case. That may get you some better results.

And what is this supposed to mean? I would hate for it to be what it sounds like and you know, get this post reported.

You would hate for it to sound like he was implying he was not from the US?

Not sure what your problem is here but if you had read the thread he does imply, by a comment that you responded to, that he is not from the US.

For some reason you took it as something nasty that you threatened to report his comment. It was pretty obvious though to everyone else that he was saying he was not from the US.

Not sure what your deal is but you need to calm down. This is not the kind of thread that people should be getting upset over......😕

The only ones I have are in Apple Operations Europe, but given that Margaret probably supersedes them...
Might be worth a shot anyway, if you don't mind of course.

Margaret seems so unhelpful like others have pointed out.

I already have done so since my initial email to Tims address which Margaret was assigned the administrator of my case 🙁

This is such a good story with great changes of plot. Keep us posted! Sorry I am taking enjoyment at your expense.

I called an asked for Executive Relations, and got the VP of Apple Care's voicemail (i so can't remember his name) and within 10 minutes got a phone call back. I had been dealing with Customer Relations and he wasn't returning phone calls.

Since you are already working with Executive Relations, I'd still call and state you are having issues with your Executive Contact and wish to speak with someone else.

I called the "main" Apple number.

I'm frustrated for you.... I wouldn't say I had a great solution to my problem (it is still open waiting for attention after the ios5/iCloud launch), but at least i felt like it was going somewhere.

You're wasting your time. Just move on, as I don't really care what you have to say.

OP, I'm not sure if there is anyone else that might be helpful. One thing that can be very persuasive though, is persistence. Keep at it. Also, my apologies for misinterpreting your statement, it just came across wrong.

Proof of purchase alongside other pieces have already been provided.

Image of the box would be provided if I had a method of capturing such image, which I don't, under the circumstances.

Honestly don't know what to say now, if another employee can't look into this, I guess I'm doomed.

Do carriers in the UK keep record of what phone you were using? If something like this happened in the US, I feel like Apple would contact AT&T, and they would tell them they sold the iPhone 4S to me and it was being used on my account up until the time I sent it off for repair. Proof of purchase is a good step towards proving to them you actually owned the phone. What I don't understand is why an AT&T model was being used in the UK.

Did you provide the serial number and IMEI to Apple? Generally they can track that phone if it is reported stolen and find out who has possession of it. Phones have GPSs in them and as long as they are on the network and being used, you can find them.

I think it is unlikely enough that a Royal Mail worker would have an AT&T iPhone, so I don't really think it's an issue with RM. Then again, why would Apple Europe/UK have one... It's an odd situation, but I'm inclined to believe it's Apple's mess up, especially given that their online tracker doesn't correlate with what they told you on the phone.

There's no more information I can provide to Apple that I haven't already, guys.

Who wants to be a middleman in bets being placed that today, Friday 28th will be as useless as everyday between Saturday 15th October and now? 😛

If the mail says apple didn't get the box, and apple says apple didn't get the box than apple probably didn't get the ****ing box and it was likely stolen.

Call the police, not apple.

Holy crap.

Apple got the box, but it had a shattered iPhone 4 in it, from what the OP is saying. He claims he sent in a new 4S and Apple claims he sent them a damaged iPhone 4. He believes someone from Royal Mail opened the box, took his new phone and replaced it with a damaged AT&T iPhone.

I still think this could be a simple fix if someone would track the location of it using the IMEI number. If someone is using a stolen phone, it should be revealed soon. I do not understand why Apple is giving him such a fuss if he has provided them with all the material proving he owned a 4S.

Apple aren't likely to do that.

Already have informed the police, however it is Apple I must liaison with.

Apple have "confirmed" that they have no record of receiving my iPhone 4S and "the only conclusion is that an iPhone 4 was inserted into the packaging"

Time for Royal Mail to escalate their investigation even further.

If Royal Mail is anything like the US Mail no way I would send anything of value through them. USPS tracking system is a joke.

Thing is, I couldn't make it to an Apple store so I had to use Apples prepaid packaging.. with Royal Mail.

Pretty sure FedEx have delivered stuff to me before from Apple.

Hi op! Sorry to hear about this and i thought i would give you an insight to Royal Mail as i used to work in a sorting warehouse.

1. Unless your package is Special Delivery then your phone is exposed to 100-150 people in any given day.

2. All Special Deliveries are placed in a locked room with camera's and no access to other employees.

3. the theft could have taken place at a branch or the sorting office, again if it is not special delivery then many people have access to your parcel.

4. Unless your package was a Special delivery i don't think they will compensate you unless you escalate it and can prove you sent the parcel and prove the contents. 🙁

When i worked there no security checks were in place to search employees randomly so anyone can steal anything and believe me there is plenty of opportunities in the day and night to steal what ever you want.

I wish you good luck because the staff that deal with these claims are arse holes.
