last year, how long did it take for AT&T stores to get the 4 in? i have a HTC Inspire I need to get rid of and thinking of trading it in via the AT&T store for an iphone 4 and exchange it for a 4S within the month.

I preordered the 4 last year the day it was able to be preordered and I got mine on launch..
 
So this time Australia had to wait till 6pm Syd time Oct 7th. So that it matches up with CA time. I wish they had simply said so. Would have saved me a lot of sleep last night. Took me an hour on the phone on hold to find out. Apparently they have spent all morning saying this. Put it on the web site maybe?

Guess they can't get it right without Steve there already!
 
AT&T had interesting info in upgrade pricing

I bought iPhone 4 on launch day, 10 year ATT customer.

Upgrade eligible but cannot get discounted pricing until 11/24.

Just off the phone with ATT. Asked about this. Rep said the following:

-Apple determines the timing of the discounted phone price (not sure I buy that completely, but whatever).

-At this time Apple has not given the go ahead to ATT to allow the discounted price for those who are so close to this date. (I imagine many of us are who bought on launch day last year).

-It is possible that Apple will allow the discounted pricing starting on launch day for those like me but they will not know this for sure until 10/14(launch). So at this point it is not an option to pre-order tomorrow with a discounted price in my case.

-If for some reason they do not allow the discounted pricing at launch, she said call 30 days prior to the discounted pricing date (in my case this works out to about 10/24, only 10 days or so from launch). At that time they can override with a manager since it's within 30 days.

That's what they said. Would I get a different answer from another rep? Maybe, who knows. I'm satisfied with this enough to wait and see. Either way it isn't that long. Thought I would pass along what I was told.

Thanks for that extra info. Sounds like it's possible some of us who are 30-90 days out may still have an earlier option (at a fully sub'ed price). Though I agree that comment about Apple having anything to do with pricing doesn't sound right at all.

I'm pissed! I got mine on preorder last year and its saying I'm not eligible for an upgrade until 3/11/12.

If I preorder now for full price, do you think att may make me eligible for upgrade so I can get some money back?
 
Yes it's 7:01 GMT not BST, brush your teeth and have a shower it's not due for another 50 minutes!

Please contact Premier Support at 1-866-499-8008 Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time for assistance with your request. Please reference Error P1234 if you speak to a representative about this error."


Then I went to the IPhone Upgrader App and got this error: "IU0014:We're sorry there appears to be a problem with your account. Please visit www.att.com/myatt to resolve this issue"

So then my question becomes do I order the 4S from the Apple Store or through the AT&T site, sorry I'm new to this upgrade stuff, any help would be appreciated, I have 45mins to figure this out...
 
Pre-Order

Do I need to know the primary account owners last four SSN digits? Cause for the eligibility thing, it asks for the last four digits of my SSN and it didn't work so I'm assuming it needs the last four digits of the primary account owners SSN.. I just don't want it to ask me for that when I pre-order cause I don't know it and he is asleep so I can't get it..

Yea I'm curious too if it's better to pre-order from Apple or from my provider? Which is Verizon in my case.

I've got both iPad2 & iPhone 4 both on Apples iPhone page, Apple store App, ATT Updater App and waiting to place the order... Even got my card # in clipboard waiting to paste. :eek:
