There were plenty in my area this evening. Like this reservation system much better than standing in line for hours.

Unfortunately at 5th Avenue there is still a long line (about an hour), and it's raining, so I'll try again this afternoon when at least it won't be raining (but the line will be longer) and after my morning meetings. Too bad UWS didn't have any 32GB models. The line was shorter there yesterday (fewer tourists, even though 5th Avenue is all boarded up).

The Reservation page shows "Unavailable" for all models for all carriers.

Tried a few stores in NJ and a couple in NY.

Can people still show-up at the store, line-up and eventually buy one? I thought, you could only purchase if you have reserved one.

Anyone in the US pre-ordered from AT&T? I am considering canceling my order, if possible, and reserve mine on Apple's site. I pre-ordered with AT&T on the 7th and the estimated ship time was 2-3 weeks, which is total BS!

Am totally in the same boat. Am watching people walk out of Apple and ATT WITH phones and I'm still (exactly like yourself) "in progress" aka back ordered with ATT. Am cancelling my ATT order as we speak. I have reserved my new phone with Apple for pick up later today at my convenience. Enough with the wait while the rest of the "normal" world has theirs.

I don't know. The crowd at 5th is the typical fall tourist crowd. I doubt that many had reservations, but what it appears is that if you reserved, one was set aside in back so you are guaranteed to get one if you wait. I don't know why they don't have a separate line, particularly since (until Grand Central opens), 5th Avenue is also the closest to the Midtown offices. As noted on another thread, this is where it was nice being able to drive down to the NJ stores.

The Apple store a few blocks from here opens in an hour. I am going to attempt a walk-in purchase/upgrade from my 3GS, *without* a reservation (I tried but was getting ready for work when they opened it for the night) Wish me luck!!!

Where is "here"?

Good luck! Don't forget to report back.

I was at the 5th Avenue store in NYC yesterday afternoon ~2PM. For AT&T they had only 64GB models available, though they had 32 GB and 64 GB options for Verizon, and 16 GB ones for Sprint available. There was a huge line outside where you had to get a ticket as the line was first-come first-serve. The Apple employees were saying an average of a 3 hour wait on picking up an iPhone 4S.

I checked the reservation page at 9:05PM and for AT&T both 16 and 32GB models were sold out. Kinda silly having the reservation page if there is nothing to reserve to begin with.

I'm afraid of ordering one online due to the 1-2 week wait as I'm hoping stock may appear before then in a store... Not feeling like waiting till Nov 4th at the latest for my upgrade from my ancient iPhone 3G 8GB.

That's because it says "AFTER 9PM TONIGHT."

The page was up yesterday and it was saying after "9 pm".

I checked last night 10:30 pm and this AM multiple times. Always shows "unavailable".

Also, people on the thread here are reporting/ mentioning being able to reserve one, including in NY...

I got on right at 9:00pm and got a reservation, but unfortunately the line was long again today so I'm not sure I'll make it. I doubt that most of the crowd actually has a reservation. I don't get why they don't have a separate line? I usually avoid 5th Avenue for this very reason. Some of us actually have to work and can't wait in a long line on a weekday.

What's the point of making a reservation then??

We were refused an iPhone at the regents street store. Had to travel to the other side of London for one and the other side of the UK for the other.

I was able to get a reservation yesterday night and went to pick up the phone around 4:30 today. I did have to wait in a line for about 5 minutes but they had my reservation and got me all set up pretty quickly.

i just reserved a 16 gb white for Square One in Canada, should I expect to get a confirmation email?

seems like they had a lot more stock tonight, still a few left around ontario too.

EDIT: spoke too soon, just got the confirmation email

Lots of new stock tonight at the main apple stores like Eaton, Square One and Yorkdale. No 64gb anywhere. Gone pretty much at 9pm sharp.

i sat and hit apple-r constantly starting about 8:50, as soon as i saw stock reserved one immediately. didn't see too many 64 gb, but most of the others were available.

I was on that line yesterday late afternoon and night. I was in line from 4 pm til 10 pm checkout receipt printed!

Mind you now that I went in the store at 3 PM to browse and look at the phones. I knew I wanted the 4S because I needed to upgrade from 32GB to 64GB for music. However, I wasn't gonna stand on a line and just go back to the store next week or so.

But a certain incident due to my stupidity took place downstairs while I was looking at the iPhones and iPads. - My iPhone 3GS was swiped and I was stuck with no phone!! someone had swiped it while I was looking at an iPad. So after I had a manager check lost and found I was told to go on the line back outside upstairs (told it was 3.5 hour wait YEAH RIGHT!) to purchase the iPhone 4S. So I guess fate or destiny had in store for me to get the iPhone 4s yesterday.

But in line 4pm til 10pm UGGH!!!!
