I'd just like to leave this interesting comparison. And the build quality of Samsung phones is quite good. The nexus has no flex, feels solid, and the back cover stays secure and is no lose. It also does much better than the iphone in drop/abuse tests. I thought this comparison shows how much Apple marks up the iPhone.

So you're comparing the Nexus [released in Fall/Winter 2011] to the iPhone 4 [released in Summer 2010]? Why not compare it to the 4s? Or would that skew the results YOU want to see?

Why is that? Because it goes against your beliefs of trying to convince everyone that Samsung is the best? Normally people who have a foundation to form an opinion are ones that have that foundation, ie having owned the product that they feel is cheaply made.

Now run along and convince the world of Samsung's superiority somewhere else. Some of us don't buy it.

Where have I tried to convince someone Samsung is the best?

I owned the 1st gen iPhone and I own an iPad 2 with the latest iOS, so I can extrapolate the experience of owning a current gen iPhone from those two experiences. iOS on the iPhone is not wildly different than that on the iPad.

That's not an iPhone, ie hardware, issue. It was an OS issue. A rather lame attempt I think, seeing as how you can send mms messages now, dontcha think?

The person I quoted was the one that posted about MMS, not me. I simply expanded on what he said. I presume you replied to the wrong person.

Because the 4s is twice as expensive.

And twice the quality.

But can't even run on 4G or do simultaneous voice and data. One could list for an hour things the Nexus and SIII can do that the iPhone can't. Can you name me ONE thing other than sync with iTunes the iPhone can do that the Samsung phones can't?

I've had a Samsung phone in the past - it was very sturdy in one sense in that the phone survived all sorts of knocks. It even survived the washing machine - twice (don't ask). Yet the phone's exterior got scratched badly even when I first owned it a treated it well (e.g., using a case), and it began to really show its age only after a few months. I think that is what some here are concerned about. Polycarbonate holds up very well to impacts, but it scratches very easily.

In any case, do we have to have another nasty and tedious debate?

[EDIT: removed rant about disrespect in the forum....some things are obvious]

Can't do voice/data? I do that all day long. 4G? It's not even in most areas. Its like the LTE argument.

I never said Samsung phones can't. Build quality is what I said. Didn't you read ?

Just what I want to buy a smartphone for - so I can stare at the pretty design but can't do sod all with the actual device.

Really? I used my 4 daily. Calls, emails, texts, web, apps. Where did I say "pretty design"? Quality is more than that. But if you like plastic, flimsily built stuff, and it works for you...good for you

Verizon's lte is almost everywhere now.

Not in my area. So I guess it's NOT everywhere now. In fact, Verizon is not all that great in my area, which is why I don't have Verizon. Nice of you to generalize though, and make it sound like fact.

The nexus is not flimsy and it is much more durable than the iPhone which is one of the least durable phones on the market.

I'll tell that to my Brother in law, who has the Nexus. He's complained often, and has returned 2 because of it. But you're the expert...

You didn't, but the pretty device and OS design is the only thing Apple has going for it over Android, so I presumed you meant pretty design.

That's opinion.

Oh, and there's a few reports on iPhone having the best customer satisfaction, and lowest return rate for Smartphones; and Android having fair to good customer satisfaction, and the highest smartphone return rate. So I guess it's more than just a pretty device, and OS design. It's good to see that you do realize iOS is better designed though ;)

As I mentioned in another thread. Verizon's 4G covers over 200 million people in the US. There are only about 331 million in the country. That is the very definition of MOST areas. Typical iPhone user, thinks what they don't have isn't popular or important. Just a way of justifying not having what most everyone else has and has had for years. Your choice though :)

I don't care what others think, I care what I think, and I'm satisfied with my SGS2.

Some people don't tweak and tune their phones like I do.. I was less than satisfied with my phone out of the box, but I enjoy tweaking it to my liking.

Apple does what they do very well - top notch hardware and proprietory control.

Android does what they do very well - top notch hardware and lets user decide how to use the device, custom roms etc.

If you just gonna take pics, tweet and listen to songs Apple your drink.

For erything else there's ANDROID!!!

I like em both.

Yes the Nexus feels better compared to the SIII

----------

This is labeled "hands on" why? As far as I am concerned this thread should be locked.

Do you work for Samsung?

I don't work for Apple nor do I work for Samsung.

I did not add pic etc as I did want you guys to see a ugly ass phone (SIII) lol

Kidding.

In all honesty it does not feel like flagship product in the hand. The feature are nice. The screen too is not as good as the iphone.

Back it goes to the store.

1)Yes feel like a quality product in your hands!!!

2)Have the accessory options like the iphone has from 3rd party manufactures. ( cases, docks, speakers etc )

As Samsung has mentioned the SIII is like designed like a pebble I guess they should go throw them in the river as they belong at the bottom.

Great hands on review.

List all your apple products. Say the SIII feels like plastic.

The end.

We I have not listed all of them :)

By hands on review - I mean its a hands on review for my self and what I feel and think of the product..... I am sure that we can voice our opinion on what one feels.

I am sorry if you are a samsung follower but trust me this SAM (SIII) cant SING.......:D

Iphone guy here :) BUT drop the 4s and the SIII and lets see wich one will be "cheap" after that

What good is it

No matter what phone you have, if it doesn't have power it's worthless. My iPhone battery lasts for days. Beat that Samsung and I'll take a serious look at your phone. Otherwise, you're just pretending to be a good phone.
