Iphone guy here :) BUT drop the 4s and the SIII and lets see wich one will be "cheap" after that

Do you buy a phone to drop it?

If you bang a Rolls Royce it to will have some damage.

I dont buy phones to drop them.

May be people who buy phone's like the SIII do buy them to drop them as they are so crap to hold in their hands... that they want minimum contact with the phone.:D

So you have never drop your phone ? Thats cool but others cant say the same :) the point is the "cheap" plastic of the s3 will be fine but the iphone will have a nice dent or crack.....

No I have not....

Well it will only have a dent or crack if you drop it.... but the Samsung will look crap 100% of the time right out of the box......

I hate going on here to see these damn threads, seeing everyone try to justify which phone is better. Can we all agree that these two phones are both good in their own way? Simply comparing miniscule aspects will never make any phone look more appealing than the other. Its obvious since there are threads where people are constantly flaming each other for different opinions.

I love my iPhone 4 but I still like the SIII. IMO, its good for the iPhone to have good competition so Apple can make a better product then Samsung can try to top it and vice versa. This brings good smartphones to consumers. So embrace it. Don't degrade a product simply because you are a fanboy

Every review I've read says the s3 is fantastic to hold and curves very naturally with the hand.

Guess you'd rather make things up to suit your argument though.

Well I was only replying to someone who said it would dent or Crack.

Anyway according to me the SIII not very good. I know various people who have tried it as its crap...

Also its available off the shelf in stores that are selling it with a very few of them saying it will take a day or two to get more stock.... it just shows the kind of demand that the phone has.

Samsung has tried very hard to create a iPhone kind of launch atmosphere for this phone but has sadly failed to do so..... they have to piggy back on the Olympics to market there phone.

I guess this says it all = crap products need to piggy back on good events to achieve a target.

My time with the phone was not very good but that may be just me.

It is time now to look forward to Mid June when and then the launch of the NEW iPhone which is going to be and amazing phone.:p

Samsung isn't piggy backing off the olympics to sell the device. Only the first 50 customers who buy the smartphone from a specific London store are getting olympic tickets. Even if those 50 wouldn't have bought the S3 were it not for the tickets, that's only going to inflate their sales by 50.

If 9 million preorders is a fail, your standards are too high my friend.

It's okay to be a fan of a product and not be bitter about other product launches; you can still be a fan of the iPhone if you don't make petty, badly thought out posts about rival products. :)

The 9 million phones have not been ordered by end users but networks/store etc. and not by end users.

Apple talks about end user sales.

I have. Dropped my iPhone 4 in a puddle on a rainy day, resulting in water damage and cracked glass. Apple replaced it for FREE and my warranty was a week past expiration. I never dropped it again. Also had it replace before that due to a known mic defect. That's two free replacements, one Apple's fault and the other my fault. Many others had the same experience and those who did have to pay out of pocket were only charged a small fraction for a replacement.

:) that's Apple for you!!!

Apple does what they do very well - top notch hardware and proprietory control.

Android does what they do very well - top notch hardware and lets user decide how to use the device, custom roms etc.

If you just gonna take pics, tweet and listen to songs Apple your drink.

For erything else there's ANDROID!!!

I like em both.

Android doesn't let users decide on custom ROMs, handset makers do that.

Doesn't matter. Stores and networks don't buy the phones so that they can sit in a warehouse, they buy them to sell, and they obviously expect them to sell like hotcakes if they've ordered so many.

Minus the margin of error and minus how many are for expected replacements.

Expectations is the Mother of All F... .. !!!

Its still different than selling them first.

Samsung pay have sold them but not the networks or the stores.

If expectation is the mother of all f... ..s, then why do you expect the next iPhone to be amazing?

Hypocritical much?

I'd just like to leave this interesting comparison. And the build quality of Samsung phones is quite good. The nexus has no flex, feels solid, and the back cover stays secure and is no lose. It also does much better than the iphone in drop/abuse tests. I thought this comparison shows how much Apple marks up the iPhone.

Epic fail. Comparing a phone that was released over a year before is weak.

Needless to say you got the specs wrong. The A4 runs at a variable clock speed and the speed is 800Mhz, not 600Mhz. 600Mhz is the 3GS. ;)

Clock speed doesn't matter as it matters how the phone runs on those clock speeds. Apple optimized the software along with the hardware so it essentially only needs half the time to run as smooth or as fast.

My 4S is just as quick as my One X. Regardless of clock speed. So your whole argument is a moot point.

Well lets just keep it to the simply fact that SAM cant SING.... forget SUNG lol

Couldn't agree more...fanboys of any manufacturer need to get a life...and quick!!

Finally someone with some ****ing common sense.

They're the most popular smartphone maker in the world.

Those numbers that you are referring to are not ALL smartphones. That's the number of cell phones that they ship. They make all kinds of **** phones, not just smartphones.

You better get busy telling all of those websites that they're wrong. If you start now, it might only take you about a month :)

You sound like a Samsung fanboy, you know that slavish adoration thing?

And Samsung is better just because they are currently making more than one smartphone? So basically the same phone with bigger screens constitutes better?

It's people like you who give Apple a BAD NAME!

People that don't have ... or how can I put it? People that want a brand that is popular and considered 'cool' but many others so it makes THEM feel Cool too!

Just live and let live.....let there be other products even if they are better, like the one you have. Don't hate it to try make the one you have 'better' lol.

How am I a fanboy for stating facts? You're the one who keeps putting forward one silly retort, then realising what you said is false and trying something else.

First you said "Samsung isn't the most popular smartphone maker" then you realised that was incorrect and basically said "Well they make more models of smartphone."

I have lots of criticisms of Samsung (updates are one of them - they never stick to their own deadlines, it's annoying) but I try not to talk crap if I can help it.
