Cool, learn sumthin new every day. Was not aware that the departure scan simply meant 'into the container', but that makes sense. It is not really departing SDF, it is departing the UPS hands... So now how do we actually determine what plane the container got on?
In my case, there is only one flight per day from SDF to OKC which kind of makes it easy. SDF to DFW probably has more than one flight which makes it more difficult.
Whatever flight it is, you will see an an arrival scan after landing and when they open the container and run the packages through the destination sorting system there is usually a destination scan. That could happen quite some time after the flight lands because they have to unload the plane and transport the containers to the sorting facility.
At least that has been my experience with packages here in OKC. YMMV
