Well it looks like those of us sitting in HK since 10:30 on the 26th finally made it to alaska... to sit again. The flight we were on seems to be HK->anchorage->ontario and we didn't get on the ontario flight.

So now that we are in AK, and all the flights coming from asia are presumably full of iPhones, which are the flights that continue on to Louisville, how are we getting to Louisville? Guess we get to chill out in Alaska for a few days.

Left factory on 9/23
Sat in ZhengZhou for 3 days
Left ZhengZhou on 9/26 and arrived in hong kong
Sat in Hong Kong for a day and a half
Got to Alaska on the 27th (Date line adds a day)
Going to sit in Alaska for ???? :p

edit:
By my count they've already missed the 5 business day window for expedited, but I guess they get a free day because of the international date line :p

Apple has guaranteed a 10/1 delivery. I called and complained today and theY basically told me until your deadline passes don't bother us. They seemed confident with their dates. I think they add an additional day or so on to protect themselves unlike ups who keeps promising tomorrow and never producing it. We will get a flight sometime tomorrow to KY. Sit there for a day and a half to clear customs and on Sunday evening we will fly to our local hubs and OFD on Monday. The painful part is getting out of Asia and to KY. After customs, the process gets moving at normal ups speeds.

I hope you are right, I just don't see how they have the capacity to move anything out of Anchorage at this point that isn't already on a plane from Asia...

We'll see...

Ha, that is all speculation on my part. At this point nothing would surprise me as big of a cluster F this has been. But like I said the apple supervisor today was pretty much an ass to me because the deadline was not until 10/1, although my point of the phone call was to complain about the way they have processed orders and it is obviously not who placed them first. It seems more of a lottery. Believe me I have the guys extension and if my 10/1 date gets pushed back it will not be a good day for his ear Monday.

Mine phone has reached Ontario :)

Ontario, CA, United States 09/27/2012 6:11 P.M. Arrival Scan
Louisville, KY, United States 09/27/2012 4:43 P.M. Departure Scan
09/27/2012 1:13 P.M. Import Scan
Louisville, KY, United States 09/26/2012 1:23 A.M. Arrival Scan
Anchorage, AK, United States 09/25/2012 2:25 P.M. Departure Scan
09/25/2012 12:50 P.M. Arrival Scan

As has mine, as of 453pm.

It seems to me that Apple packaged all the orders it received in their "second batch" -- baasically people who preordered on the 14th after the initial batch sold out -- then handed off the whole bunch to UPS. UPS couldn't fly them all out of China at once, so they flew them out in batches over several days. Which batch your phone ended up in is random and not correlated to when you placed your order, so it is exactly like a lottery. I'm not inclined to give Apple or UPS any flak over this -- it would have been a huge logistical nightmare to separate the phones by the hour their order was placed and fly them out in that order. Apple originally told us we would get our phones by 10/5, so even the people getting them on 10/1 are getting them 4 days early. The ones who got them already are just very, very lucky, and that's how life goes sometimes.

For all Canadian folks who got departure scan 9/27 3:51 P.M in Louisville
Next flight to Mount Hope at 4:33 A.M will arrive 6 - 7 A.M
I don't think we can make it for tomorrow :(
Look like Monday it is.

What was the scheduled delivery date in your UPS tracking before it disappeared?

I agree with you.

My 16gb AT&T black just touched down in Richmond and should be headed down the road and loaded for delivery in a few hours. "CAN'T WAIT!!" (Bart Scott voice)

Hope everyones finally comes. Mine took forever it seems, but it says it'll arrive tomorrow finally. Thank god.

Same thing here.
Starting to loose hope :(

Actually, I was going through some old tracking reports of people having something shipped Louisville-Buffalo-Mount Hope-Canada and it seems, that ups is capable of getting these late night shipments imported (= IMPORT SCAN status) in Mt Hope about 4 AM. I think I even saw some, that arrived to Buffalo later then 1 AM

I had an arrival scan of 1:23am in Louisville on 9/26 like most people here. Got an import scan at 12:16pm today after I chatted with ups. Never got an update after that the whole day and still said delivery for the end of the day today, which would be on SoCal. Checked right now and it says held in warehouse. I'm gonna be extremely disappointed if I don't get it tomorrow since at one point i got an email saying I would get it yesterday.

Wrapped Around the Axle

Like many of you, I've been wrapped around the axle of WHEN IS MY PHONE GOING TO GET HERE.

My phone was one of those that sat in China for ~2 days at each step, sat in Korea for ~2 days.

Then, finally, it started to move. I got excited. It WAS actually going to arrive.

Over the last 3 days, I've chatted with UPS folk, I've talked with UPS folk. I've been told that the phone would arrive every-when from 9/26 to 10/1. All the while, my delivery date said 9/27.

The only value I got from interacting with UPS folk was the nice lady who put a Delivery Change Request in for me so that I could pick up my phone Will Call from the local UPS depot. Otherwise, all the time I spent with them was worse than a waste of time. It was misleading. It was distracting. It was maddening.

I don't complain about a potential 9/28 or 10/1 delivery date. My original delivery date was to be 10/5.

I only go on and on to encourage you to leave the UPS folk alone.

I've relaxed, sat back and am enjoying watching the scan date/times go by. I play with which airplane the phone might be on. I don't try to plan for which day my phone will arrive.

I'm having a much better time now.

I hope you will too.

Where did you find those?
I was googling all day to find a UPS tracking from Louisville to Canada and I couldn't find one!!!
And thanks for raising my hioe again. :) don't wanna wait another 3 days. I don't think UPS deliver in Saturday here in Canada

Hello hawk99, we arrived in Louisville together. Good luck to us both!

Jst got another update, another import scan at 12:39am est 9/28, updated delivery date of 10/1. I know that's earlier than the original 10/5 promised by apple, but when it was shipped, apple said 9/28, then ups said 9/27, then ups said 9/26, then back to 9/27, and now 10/1.

Ordered mine at 1:38am pst on 9/14, order was processed by ups in china at 8:01am on 9/23.
