but that means my iPhone is going the wrong way. Why fly to KY and then to CA?
It looks as if the pallets have to clear US customs at the UPS facility in Louisville and then be "depalletized" and sorted for destination. That's probably why the orders sit there for a day or two.
I'm suspecting the hold up in ZhengZhou is not frequent enough air freight service for the special circumstances.
I just signed up and right after I did there wasn't an option for me to change the delivery. My phone took off from KY ~4hrs ago and having the phone to be picked up at will call just became available. So if you're in a similar situation, I would just keep refreshing and hopefully the option becomes available a few hrs after it departs from KY
His phones probably going to his nearby phone already. Its left Louisville already so wherever he is he should get it tomorrow or Wednesday.
Lol all the numbers are mad weird. I only see my phone number and order number. Others are gibberish
I believe the phones will fly straight to the states from Zhengzhou. I don't think we'll see an update until the shipment clears customs. I may be wrong but if they're going to make a 28th delivery it sounds feasible.

I ordered at 4:52 am PDT on 9/14 for a 32GB black Sprint device. From tracing other submissions, there are a significant number of later transactions that have made it to the States already.

I was thinking about ordering one today. That sounds about right from the info on Apple's website. I came to this thread to see if orders being made now are shipping any earlier than their estimated ship time. It doesn't sound like it.

They give these contracts to the lowest bidder so we get what we pay for...nothing.
Welcome the club. Out of 4 iPhone 16gb orders between me and two other co-workers, the latest orders have already shipped and were in Kentucky this morning with delivery dates of 9/27 where my orders are still sitting in China. I ordered 3 hours before them. Of my 2 orders the first order shipped an entire day after the second order (7 minutes apart). So now I supposedly have them coming 9/28 and 10/1. Much better than 10/5 but so very frustrating and I will never try to pre-order from apple again. Also a pain that I have to coordinate 2 UPS deliveries on separate days.
My iPhone has been sitting in China since 11pm yesterday and I missed the Preorder hour (3am-4am EST) by one hour (ordered at 5am EST on 9/14) their shipping sequence is nonsensical and I will never trust my pre-order to Apple again.

I talked to the UPS live chat person and they said that even though my package does not show a delivery date, it should arrive 9/26, but I should keep tracking it because there's a "big chance" it could arrive tomorrow! (Currently on a flight to Louisville and I'm in St. Louis) Yay!!!

I really don't know what to make of that, considering other flights are moving along.
The unrest at the plant does put this in perspective for me. I don't know what the real story is but I know I don't have to work 80 hour OT and it made me feel silly for being disgruntled I missed the cut off my 20min. Yeh I will take my rich white peeps problems, the fact I have the time to lurk this site. I actually might even need to get a life lol

I don't see any UPS flights coming out of Atlanta near that time so maybe it's traveling to Louisville on a different carrier or by ground.
