It's possible that you're about to land in LA on UPS 2964, you'll know if you get an arrival scan in the next few minutes. With no departure scan in Louisville and no arrival scan in Hapeville, it's hard to say where it left from and where its next stop is.
Yes, that's what I did. The option was not there until about 6 pm Eastern Time, I've been checking all day
. I'm in Ohio and if it makes it to KY tonight it *might* be that I can really get it tomorrow, however I am not setting my hopes too high. So far UPS keeps telling me that I will be able to pick it up tomorrow, let's see...P.S. I'm the original poster, but the system keeps kicking me out so I had to create this new account.

Great mine went from China to Hong Kong to New York then to Louisville which is a good 5 hours farther from me then New York.
Gotta love the scenic route they are taking.. I also have expedited so Im getting it even slower.
Even better I could just have gone to the Apple Store and bought one because they have them in stock.
Pre-ordering was such a bad experience which turned out be way more lengthy then I expected.

Cool. Unfortunately I don't think I can do that since I had it shipped to my office making this particular delivery not match up with my home delivery address on my UPS account. If it looks like its arriving in my town tomorrow I'll probably call and see if they can hold it for me.
That Louisville flight will be landing between midnight and 1am so I'd imagine those of us on that flight now will get the device no later than Wednesday.
Just chatted with UPS about a delivery date - and this was the answer:
Unfortunately we do not have access to the delivery date of this wave of iPhone 5 Shipments. However we have been informed that the delivery date will be released to public view, tomorrow the 25th. Please track your package at ups.com tomorrow morning to be able to see the delivery date

OH MY GOSH!! I am so livid my package has been in the US since yesterday a 4 hour plane flight away in Georgia I just called ups and turns out they are all being held at customs and they pushed the deliveries till the first of October WOW. If anyone is in a standstill anywhere in the US. Ups just answered our questions. If anyone else has had a hold up... Do me a favor and call you ups. Find out if this is the case for everyone. No more early pre order delivery
That's what I'm hoping. I think I will have it by Wednesday at the latest unless there is a delay in Louisville. Better than my quoted 9/28 (originally 10/5). I'm happy either way but today I've been really OCD about it!

When I got my iPad it didn't hang around in Louisville. It moved right along to the local hub. Why would this be any different? I got the iPad via preorder just like the iPhone, except that the iPad came on launch day.
Did Apple give you a delivery date? It might not matter what Apple says but just curious. This is sucky.
I suppose that's right. Mine was there for 25 hours before I got an "import scan". Fortunately for me it was a Sunday and it wouldn't have flown here until today regardless.

I figured out that my UPS login error was due to a bad Java update. Now I have to wait 90 minutes until I can try to have them hold the package.
Yep, been 'ready for ups' for a while now.... Looks like you and I were on the same truck....

I connected with UPS Live Chat and apparently they just aren't being updated correctly, He said my package is in transit and will be here tomorrow. Even though my last 2 notices were a Arrival and Import scan at Louisville and it's been the same for 2 days now.
Nope held up at customs ups just told me i won't receive it till the first now. Try calling them and see what they tell you

Mine has been there since 7am and they said I won't receive it till the first I'm in California a 4 hour plane ride away. And apparently according to the lady this applies to everyone but who knows other people should call as find
