Well I was hoping I didn't have to contribute to this thread but I will, and my battery pretty much sucks .

Launch day iPhone 5, some times the battery is decent but most of the time I cannot get through a day. Not really heavy usage starting to become a hassle.

Did another reset , set as new, my usage mainly browsing here and there, little music, lots of texts, opening apps, camera usage btw no LTE mainly Wifi

I've never had decent battery life with any iPhone I've ever had. Although I don't yet have the 5 I felt I could chime in and add something to this conversation since I currently have a 4s and have previously owned a 3G, 3GS, and an i4 as well.
My experience has been that battery life is relative to your service area and how good the coverage is. If you're in a really good service area that keeps 4-5 bars generally your battery life will be better than those in more rural areas such as myself that only keep 2-3 bars. This is because the phone itself doesn't have to struggle to keep in constant communication with the tower. Everyone knows that you obviously get much better battery life at home when using airplane mode with wifi on but some people have failed to see that correlation in regards to how good their coverage is at the place where they use their phone the most. I've read some upper level tech documents on the issue at various forums and it seems to be a pretty accurate hypothesis.

I realize that some phones are better than others it seems for some reason but no matter what the case may be unless they make a significant investment in bettering the battery life of these iphones folks like me will continue to have a horrible experience.

I also highly recommend a phone suit elite. It will completely recharge a dead iPhone to 100% with a little juice left after doing so.

good post... i've never heard of turning Airplane mode on with Wifi at home?.. I guess i should start using the Wifi at home instead of relying on LTE all the time.

I'm all about conserving the battery anyway i can.

it makes sense the more bars the less the iphone has to scruggle and use more juice..

Probably my best battery life so far.

Sorry, I dont know how to compress it. This was like 90% wifi 10% 3g

If LTE is on, Turn it off. It still searches for LTE signal despite being on wifi. Turning LTE off on my Sprint iphone when im wasnt in coverage helped my battery life tremendously.

I keep it on hoping for one day to be surprised and see the little LTE bars on my phone

What do you have your brightness on? have you tried the fixes around? turning off location services etc?

Brightness at about 30-35%, all of the power saving tips applied such as date and time setting, Ad Tracking, Push turned off, bluetooth off, WI-FI off.

Could it be the Apps that I am using? Facebook, Twitter and Instagram?

I am getting nowhere near the 8-9 and 10 hours some users are getting and this is my 3rd iPhone

5th or 6th cycle
Light gaming jetpack joyride
Spotify
Wifi browsing pretty much constantly
Quiz app - a lot

3G drains alot.
I have never used 4G and LTE yet but I guess those drain alot. Ure using one of these three right if you're on FB and instagram that is.

FB and instagram needs to load high quality pics pretty often and then theres (automatic push on FB?) so .. that **** drains.

But apart from that I don't know what you should do.

Tried to set it up as new?

What if someone wants to call your cell "phone" while you are at home. by turning on airplane mode you kill all cell antennas, whether that be 4g or LTE. You basically just turned your iPhone into an iPod.

I'm not turning on Airplane mode only Wifi at home.

This isn't good is it? Pretty much standard usage. Push off and used all the tips from this thread :(

4 hrs of screen on time with 17 percent left? That's abysmal especially when the Note has a huge battery and when some of us on here are getting around 7-9 hrs of screen on time / usage.

how are u guys posting the screen shot on Macrumors? IS there a easier way besides hooking the phone to the computer and saving pic to flickr and then copying image?

I seem to get the exact same results every day, 7 hrs 15 minutes just as the phone hits 20%. By this time, I'm ready for bed, so I'm not sure how far it could go with that extra 20% battery. I'm satisfied with these results.

TROLL. Why is it you didn't post any of your exisitng usage screen shots? Actually a lot of whiners never post their screen shot of results but just complain poor iphone battery this and that.

Well after a replacement I'm in the same boat. 2 hours of usage on LTE, Wifi and Bluetooth off, mail set to manual, and I'm at 60%. This is bulls***

What a surprise. NO screen shot to show is the results.
