100% LCD brightness, with all the extra stuff enabled when it doesn't need to be. Plus, I was watching YouTube and games a lot.
 
I've been getting great battery life. LTE and wifi is always on, brightness settings are at their default settings with auto dim on.

This is the result after a restore and this is now my 3rd iPhone :mad:

What should I do? This usage isn't anything heavy at all.

I have similar usage on my replacement.... It looks like around that time is the norm if you rely on LTE/4G only (not using wifi)
 
I set my iPhone 5 up as new. Got a replacement a few days later and restored from iCloud. No idea how you guys are getting 8hrs usage unless your listening to music a lot. I only get about 6. Would it be better to restore to new again?
 
is this ok? or not good ?

I use my phone almost all day, constantly:
brightness about 40% auto brightness off
cell data on, sometimes I turn it off
wifi on constantly, i never use 4G and there's no LTE in my area
push off on everything including mail
notifications, only have messages on and weather
auto time and date off
ad tracking off

mostly use twitter, surf on chrome, play a few games, use iMessage and txt some

I have reset all settings (cause I didn't set it up as new when I got it)
haven't restored.

just seems like I should b getting better, idk

Its on par what the official statement of the battery says. So yes.
 
I think mine sucks compared to my 4-4S can't make it thru the day because I had already charged it up to 80% in the car durin this cycle

My battery life is good on wifi. Soon as I leave the house and try using an app like the browser it drains extremely fast. Carrier signal is always 4-5 bars. LTE is off, Location Services if off.
 
Ok, I've done all the tricks with brightness, Fetch, Location, and wifi and so far here are my specs

light to moderate texting and light phone use.. No Safari used..

32% left

Usage 7hrs 4 min

Standby 2days 17hrs

Granted i've been using Wifi at the house instead of LTE and i think that makes a huge difference.. Wish i would have done that with my previous phone but only used 3G and 4G(when it became available)...
 
I give up... my battery has been getting worse! I was almost at 51/2 hours a few days back.

Yesterday I could barely get 4 hours. This is not normal. As a reminder, I am not allowed to use my work's wifi so I am forced to stay on LTE (full signal) all day long at work. Luckily I have a charger here, but I think this one needs to go to Apple for a replacement.

At first I had battery as good as my old 4 was hoping to get better. Once again drained battery to 0% and fully charged to 100%. I have iCloud and Hotmail set to push other accounts to manual. Location services on but only compass calibration and traffic on for system services, brightness slider set under the "e" in brightness and no Wi-Fi used at all only LTE (since it's faster). getting good usage I think!! PS no music played so far. by the way, restored from backup from 4.

My battery is very inconsistent.
I was getting poor battery, then after a restore I was very happy to get over 6hrs. And 2 days ago I got 7hours and that was really good and I was happy, but again after a day, it started to get only 5.5hrs... I am doing the same sort of stuff on it - browse a few sites, a few messages, twitter and Instagram. Nothing different on a day to day basis. On the 7hour day I did however stream some video which made it even more impressive.
Any idea why I could be seeing these inconsistencies?

there is no problem, that's why.

people expect 8 hours battery life when they use battery hogging apps like twitter, instagram, GAMING, etc.

use stock apple apps, and you'll get what apple has promised.

listen to music all day, and you'll get 10 hours battery life like seen on here.

- Jetpack Joyride
- Temple Run (most of the time)
- Quiz app
- Some light Wifi browsing
- Alot of smsing
