Is anyone else experiencing this?

My iPhone dramatically fluctuates it's %... For example:

9:00am - 85% - 9:30am - 45% reset phone - 81% 1/2 hr later back in the 40% range. Plugged phone in to power source instantly jumps back around 80%.

4:50pm - 24% battery, make phone call and 30 seconds into call and it dies completely. Waited 5 minutes and the phone turns back on @ 18%.

I have done all of the "battery saving tips" I can find but the symptoms remain. Is it time for a genius appointment?

That not "normal" dude.

I don't think I've ever been at 80% after this much standby.

This is what mine does. I called Apple tonight and they ran a diagnostic test and immediately said it came back as "battery failure." I have a Genius Bar appt for a new phone, it is a hardware issue and under warranty.

Call Apple and have them run the test.

Yes. I had the same symptoms and had my battery replaced at the Apple Store. Go see a Genius.

So, help!!!

AppleCare on the phone said I had a battery failure, so I take it to the Genius Bar. Guy sets it up and it shows it is in the green, so he can't change it even though my record says AppleCare saw a failure. They didnt get me a code for the store to override the system.

My phone battery drops from 30 percent to 20 in a minute, and often does at 7 percent. If I plug it in, in two minutes it is back at 20 percent. It drops two percentage points a minute of use often.

Today I had 3 hrs 20 mins if usage and 9 HUD standby and it died. I have notifications and locations off and close all apps completely.

I have restored - though I did then restore a backup do I didn't lose apps. Is my only option a clean restore without restoring a backup?

I have no idea if so how to get all my contacts and apps back. I don't care about texts and settings I can adjust.

Help! This phone us borderline unusable - I don't trust to use it when I'm traveling. :(

Show the Genius your battery dropping from 30 to 20%.
Use this app for your contacts or just use icloud.

My iP5 battery life is generally really good, but it's gotten worse the last 2 weeks suddenly.

Usually I notice certain apps drain it - e.g. Podcasts - but maybe I just need to refresh the battery cycle.

That's the funny thing, I did show him but his little testing unit showed it solidly green still. I used it for three minutes and showed him it dropped a percentage point per minute (or more).

I have contacts synced through Google (I love them through gmail); with apps that are backed up to iTunes can't I drag/drop them individually over? If so I wouldn't lose too terribly much by starting as new and not restoring from any backup.

Anybody else who has been experiencing "less than stellar" battery life (let's say between 4 - 6 hours of usage down to 1% battery life) noticing an improvement over the past several days?

My usage has improved from 4-6 hours to about 7.5 and I've changed nothing! No changes to any of the phone's settings or my usage habits, except perhaps for a bit less phone use and bluetooth use on my commute these past few days, but certainly nothing to warrant a 20-25% increase in usage time...

Bizarre? I hope this isn't just a fluke (before the 6.1.2 iOS update, I would get 7-9 hours of usage fairly regularly (if I was predominantly on wifi) and I hope that will be the case again...

Got this today, must be my all time record on my i5 :) Very mixed used; Surfing, some apps like flipboard, little gaming, spotify.

(Tage = Days, Stunden = Hours ;) )

At this point, I'm about to throw the 5 away and buy a SGIII or something. Apple has refused to help and restoring has made no difference.

At this point, the phone will drain a percent per a minute or two of usage. I travel daily for work and this phone is my office connection. I can't trust it any more for that purpose.

And here it is now at 1 percent. Am quite upset.

I am having the same exact problems. I am afraid to take my iPhone in for an appointment because it has two hairline cracks through the rear glass at the top. When it was jailbroken I checked the cycle count and it said 260. That was a month ago which means I am probably around 290 now.

This is mine so far on a 1 month old 5.
General texting, safari and Facebook. Everything turned off except wifi at home.
